The Oak Tree Inn is a 42-bedroom inn on the West Highland Way at Balmaha, Loch Lomond. 11 rooms are located above the inn and the remaining are located just a short walk from the main building. Parking is available at the main inn and the cottages.

Each room has a unique character, all with different features and specifications. If you have any specific requests, please let us know during the booking process, and we will endeavour to cater to your needs.

Standard Double/Twin
These rooms provide all the essentials for a comfortable stay, such as complimentary WiFi, a flat-screen TV, a hairdryer, and a selection of tea and coffee.

Location & Directions

Location and directions to the Oak Tree Inn

Situated in the heart of Drymen, a charming village in the southern part of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, The Oak Tree Inn is approximately 20 miles (32 km) north of Glasgow.

By Car:

Head north on the M8 motorway toward Stirling.
Take Exit 30 onto the M898 motorway, following signs for Erskine Bridge.
Cross the Erskine Bridge over the River Clyde.
Continue on the A82 road, which will take you through the town of Alexandria.
Follow the A811, which will lead you to the village of Balloch at the southern tip of Loch Lomond.
Continue on the A811 as it follows the eastern shore of Loch Lomond.
You'll pass through the village of Drymen.
Keep following the A811 until you reach Balmaha. The Oak Tree Inn is located in the heart of the village.

By Public Transport:

You can take a train from Glasgow to Balloch, which is the nearest train station to Balmaha.
From Balloch, you can take a bus or taxi to Balmaha. The journey is relatively short.

The Oak Tree Inn has a small number of pet-friendly rooms, The pods do NOT allow pets. Please contact myhotelbreak to check availability. Pets are charged at £20 per night. Dogs are allowed in the bar and conservatory. The restaurant remains completely dog-free for guests with allergies.

Parking 
Parking is available at the main car park behind the hotel. Please do not bring luggage on check-in as you may be directed to parking closer to your room. Some rooms are located in the cottages just a few yards from the hotel.

Conic Hill:  Hike up Conic Hill for panoramic views of Loch Lomond and the surrounding landscape. The trailhead is not far from the Oak Tree Inn, making it a great day hike.

Balmaha Beach: Spend some time at Balmaha Bay's small sandy beach, perfect for sunbathing or picnicking. The water in Loch Lomond can be cold but refreshing for a swim.

Tom Weir's Statue:  Visit the statue of Tom Weir, a renowned Scottish outdoors enthusiast, and pay tribute to his love for the area.

Balmaha Millennium Forest Path:  Explore the nearby woods on this walking trail, where you can observe local flora and fauna.

Watersports:  If you're interested in watersports, you can rent kayaks or paddleboards to explore the loch. Rental shops are available in Balmaha.
