Blackwaterfoot is located in the Shiskine valley on the south west of the Isle of Arran. The small village is well known as being home to one of Europe's two 12 hole golf courses.

There is a vast array of sights to see in this area of Arran, including - The King's Cave. This cave is said to have been the hiding place for Robert the Bruce, where he come across with the spider whose efforts convinced him to try again.
