Things to see & do in Erskine

Under the shadow of the suspension bridge that takes its name sits Erskine, a small, Renfrewshire town on the River Clyde south bank.

Erskine is primarily a commuter town as its 30 minutes from Glasgow, or town is well-served by road, and is just ten minutes from Glasgow Airport.

Erskine’s residents do not have to travel far to enjoy the spoils of the Scottish countryside; Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are nearby, and the Clydes pristine sea lochs make for an enjoyable weekend road trip.

Erskine has a long association with war veterans, after the opening of the Erskine Hospital in 1916 to treat the servicemen and woman who fought in World War One. A registered charity, Erskine opened a new home for veterans in Anniesland, Glasgow, in November 2007, and houses a some 1,300 veterans, aged between 23 and 100-years-old.
