Directions to Glenmoriston Town House in Inverness

By Car
As you approach Kessock Bridge, after the bridge you will reach a roundabout, take the 3rd exit off which brings you onto a dual carriageway. Continue along Longman road when you get to a smaller roundabout, take the 2nd exit off and continue along until the next small roundabout. Take 2nd exit and carry on until you reach the final roundabout exit and the first exit and drive along Chapel Street. Make your way into the right-hand lane until the set of traffic lights. At the lights turn right which will take you to the River Ness (Bank Street). At the crossroads (Johnny Foxes Pub is on the left) stay in the left lane and carry straight on until reaching a junction with the road veering to the right (Ness Bank) at a church. Follow the river to The Glenmoriston Town House Hotel, which is 200 yards (approx.) on the left.

By Air

LOCH NESS CRUISE
Whichever season you choose to visit, a cruise on Loch Ness is a superb way to experience the magnificence of the loch and its stunning attractions, such as the ancient ruins of Urquhart Castle. Our boats sail close to the imposing battlements of Urquhart castle ruins. Jacobite Cruises can be accessed directly by bus from waiting areas very close to the Hotel. The nearest pickup point is outside of the Law Courts on Ness Bank about 10 minutes walk from the Hotel.

Situated across the River Ness from The Glenmoriston, Eden Court has undergone a terrific transformation to become the largest arts centre north of the border. Designed by the award-winning, Glasgow-based architects Page/Park, the new Eden Court incorporates the two existing buildings, both of which are listed, with a striking modern extension. Inside, the venue is contemporary and light, with high-quality fixtures and fittings, many commissioned specifically for the new building. Not only does Eden Court have theatre shows and cinemas, but it also has a range of activities for all the family to enjoy, including Drama classes, Storytelling books and Creative Writing, Summer Activities Film, Sound and Animation Classes. We are delighted to have teamed up with our friends at 'Tuna Fishing Scotland' to allow our guests the chance to come to experience the thrill of fishing the elusive giant bluefin tuna out in the Atlantic nearby the stunning St Kilda. They will do their best to put a tuna on the line for you!

FORT GEORGE
Fort George sits behind its massive grass-topped artillery defences on an isolated spit of land jutting west into the Moray Firth at Ardersier, 11 miles northeast of Inverness. Conceived in the immediate aftermath of the 1745 uprising and the nearby Battle of Culloden that concluded it, Fort George was intended to be a once and for all solution to the threat posed by the Highlands, and the Jacobites in particular. Fort George offers a fascinating day out. Visitors approach from the landward side where the sloping grassy banks designed to absorb artillery shells all but hide the fort from view. The visitor centre and shop are in the old guardhouse on the ravelin, a free-standing defensive structure completely exposed to fire

CULLODEN BATTLEFIELD
Culloden Battlefield Site is situated about 3 miles outside of Inverness on the Aberdeen Road Visiting Culloden the last hand-to-hand battle fought on British soil takes on a whole new meaning with the opening of an exciting new visitor centre and interactive exhibition. The battlefield itself is now restored to as close as possible that marched on by the two sides on that fateful day.
