From Edinburgh take the M90 to Perth, from Glasgow take the M80, A80 then the A9 to Perth. From Perth take the A9 north approximately 64 miles. Come off at the slip road for Newtonmore (A86), the Highlander hotel is on the main road at the north end of Newtonmore.

Pets are welcome at the Highlander Hotel at no additional charge; however, you must add a note when booking.  Although dogs are not permitted in the main restaurant, they can enter the bar and lounge.  If you want your dog to accompany you when you are having your meals we can arrange for you to eat in the "Farklers Rest" but this needs to be pre-booked.

The highlight for many visitors to the Highlander Hotel is the Highland Night, an evening of celebrating Scottish food and entertainment, where guests can taste haggis and join in popular traditional dances.

Within the village of Newtonmore, there is the Wildcat Walking trail, 18- hole golf course or for those who prefer more relaxing attractions the Cairngorm Funicular Railway and Highland Folk Park & Museum.

For grain lovers, the area boasts a number of famous distilleries – stay local and visit the Dalwhinnie or Tomatin distilleries, or spend a day following the Malt Whisky Trail, with a stop off at the Speyside Cooperage to learn about the famous Scottish golden nectar.

Mountain bikers will be in their element at Laggan Wolftrax, a 35km single track that’s well maintained and available all year round.
