Tourist Information & Hotels in Perthshire, Angus & The Kingdom of Fife
Little more than an hours drive north of Edinburgh and Glasgow, Perthshire is often referred to as the "Gateway to the Highlands". There is a mix of stunning Highland terrain with dramatic lochs and mountains, with plenty of towns and villages to visit, such as Perth, Dunkeld, Aberfeldy, Pitlochry, Blairgowrie, Crieff, Comrie and Kenmore.

Perth
Perth was once the capital of Scotland, is now established as an elegant & sophisticated county town, with open parklands, excellent shopping mall, the new £20million concert hall, restaurants and bistros. Perth's location on the banks of the might River Tay, make it an attractive Scottish setting. Near to Perth are some magical historical sites, such as Scone Palace, Elcho Castle, Balhousie Castle– home to the Black Watch museum. The area is surrounded by other attractions - Perth Auction Mart, Caithness Glass, and Dundee is less than 20 minutes away.
Pitlochry
A popular tourist destination since Victorian times. Amongst its many attractions is the Pitlochry Dam and Salmon ladder. Pitlochry Festival Theatre is well known for its drama and comedy. Pitlochry is home to Scotland's smallest and oldest whisky distillery at Edradour. Near Pitlochry there is the "Queens View" at the head of Loch Tummel, leading on to Kinloch Rannoch, a small but interesting village surrounded by mountains and an excellent location for the outdoor enthusiast.
Dunkeld
Affectionately known as "Scotlands smallest city", is dominated by its cathedral which is close to the River Tay. The best way to appreciate Dunkeld and neighbouring Birnam is by foot. You will soon discover something of interest around every corner. Historical monuments, brightly coloured houses originating from the 17th century, river walks, Beatrix Potter gardens and the cathedral.
Blairgowrie
Located due east of Pitlochry and the drive to Blairgowrie passes many interesting places, like the 5 lochs, a sanctuary for nature lovers and bird watchers. By the road between Blairgowrie and Perth you will pass the 200m long hedge over 20 meters high, and planted by the Jacobite army in 1745, on their retreat from England.
Blairgowrie itself is a market town, on the banks of the River Ericht and is near to the fine Blairgowrie golf course, which the Angus Hotel can book tee off times for you. Blairgowrie is near to Glenshee one of Scotland's 4 ski centres. From Blairgowrie and over the Spittal of Glenshee you can easily reach Braemar and Royal Deeside.
Kinross
Kinross is set amidst gently rolling hills. Kinross, is situated at junction 6 on the M90 providing easy access from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Perth -known as the "Gateway to the Highlands". Kinross nestles around Loch Leven where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567 on Castle Island. The area around Kinross is rich in history and natural beauty. Queen Margaret of Scotland, William Wallace and Robert the Bruce are just a few of the well known British historic figures who have visited the area. Kinross is also the favoured destination of many feathered visitors including thousands of geese who winter here every year.
Angus & Dundee
Angus and Dundee area is full of award winning visitor attractions such as Glamis Castle and RRS ship Discovery . It is also an area of contrasting landscapes rugged coastlines, gentle lowlands and Highland glens merge easily. It is an area, like most of Scotland, where there are plenty top class golf courses. Dundee
Dundee is the main city within Angus. Over recent years Dundee, known as the "City of Discovery", has transformed itself into a popular short break destination, with an excellent shopping arena, theatre and museums. One of the benefits of choosing Dundee as your holiday destination, is the fact you can match a city break with some country living. Dundee is a small but vibrant city, so it only takes a very short time to be out in the open countryside, strolling along glistening beaches, playing a round of golf ( St Andrews is only 40 minutes away), or mountain biking along many of the Forest Trails which can be found around Dundee.
The Kingdom of Fife
Located on the "sunny" east coast of Scotland, within 1 hours drive of Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee. Reported to be the driest area within Scotland, and home to the game of golf - St Andrews. Naturally, Fife is very much connected to the game of golf, with over 40 golf courses you can play on. Apart from golf, Fife has so much more to offer. It has a splendid coastline stretching from the South bank of the Firth of Tay, just south of Dundee, to the north bank of the Firth of Forth, north of Edinburgh. Along this coastline, and south of St Andrews, there are many quaint East Neuk fishing villages such as Crail, Anstruther, St Monans and Pittenweem. Look out for grey seals and, in summer, basking sharks and dolphins. The offshore islands of Inchcolm and Inchkeith are home to thousands of seabirds, with vast numbers of puffins found on the Isle of May. The coastal area is a bird watchers paradise, and there are many walks available, and the local information centres will be happy to provide you with information. The larger towns such as Cupar, near to Fernie Castle Hotel and Kirkaldy, the "Lang toun" are typical & characerful Fife Market towns.
Dunfermline
Dunfermline was once the capital of Scotland, and is one of the most historically connected towns in Scotland. Dunfermline's Royal and Monastic past is dominated by its 12th century abbey, resting place of 11 Scottish Kings, the most well known being Robert the Bruce. Dunfermline is also the birthplace of James 1 in 1394 and Charles 1 in 1600. Apart from the historical side, Dunfermline is a pleasant town, with a good shopping centre and restaurants. Around the town, there are plenty things to see and do. Edinburgh is just the other side of the Forth Road Bridge. Deep Sea World is only 4 miles away and if you fancy something abit more lively, then Classic can book you on to one of the "fun" courses at Knockhill Race circuit.
St Andrews
St Andrews, Scotland's oldest University town, and home to world famous Royal and ancient golf club, which attracts most visitors. The town has the University feel, but the whole area retains that old fashioned attraction, where little has changed over the centuries. There are wide open & sandy beaches, made famous from the film "Chariots of Fire".
