Yorkshire

National Parks -
Everything from chalk seacliffs of the Yorkshire Wolds to a steam railway on the North Yorkshire Moors, to the Peak Districts Dramatic outcrops.  Over 1000 square miles of open space waiting to be explored.
Yorkshire Dales - Spectacular for walking, cycling, and riding. 1600 square miles of valleys, crags, peaks, caves, moorland, picturesque villages with homely pubs and cafes, and spectacular scenery.
Coastal - Yorkshire has over 130 miles of coastline, from sheltered bays, like Robin Hoods bay and smugglers cove, to spectacular cliffs at Flamborough Head. Popular holiday spots : Whitby, Bridlington, Filey and the most popular being Scarborough.
Gardens - Some of the UK''s best gardens are in Yorkshire, for instance Constable Burton Hall gardens.
History & Heritage - stretching back hundreds of years. Yorkshire has a proud history, and often referred to ( by Yorkshire folk!) , as being the backbone of Britain. There are dozens of castles, hundreds of religious buildings, thousands of ancient monuments, and countless centres explaining Yorkshire's proud Heritage:  York Minster, Castle Howard, Jorvik Centre, World Heritage site of Saltaire, National Coal Mining Museum near Wakefield, Royal Armouries in Leeds ,  Bronte Country in Howarth where the famous novels were written and the Yorkshire Museum depicting life in Yorkshire 
through the ages.

Humberside
Humberside, in the north east of England, was originally a county made up of areas on either side of the River Humber. The county itself no longer exists under this name, however the area as a whole is still often referred to as Humberside. There are various places and attractions worth a visit in the area.

  • Beverley - the market town of Beverley is worth a visit in itself for its charming markets and streets. It is also the home of Beverley Minster, Beverley Racecourse and various museums.
  • Cleethorpes - Cleethorpes is a traditional English seaside resort. It has sandy beaches, a theme park, a Discovery Centre and a light railway.
  • Grimsby - Grimsby is a well known fishing port which has a Fishing Heritage Centre.
  • Humber Estuary - the Humber estuary is a rich source of birds and wildlife and is a popular walking/nature location.
  • Kingston upon Hull - the city of Hull has plenty to keep everyone occupied. It has various shopping centres, the Humber Bridge, The Deep aquarium, a marina and various museums and theatres. .
  • Waltham Windmill - based in Waltham this windmill has a Museum of Rural Life and a Victorian kitchen attached to it. There is also a miniature railway and a coffee shop/restaurant.
