The New Lanark Mill Hotel offers a unique opportunity to stay in the World Heritage Village. Originally an 18th century cotton mill, the interior has been imaginatively restored and converted and keeps many of the original features of the mill, such as Georgian windows and barrel-vaulted ceilings.
New Lanark is a unique village, surviving almost unchanged since 1785. It rose to fame as the birthplace of Robert Owen’s imaginative and far-reaching approach to community life. Facing demolition after the closure of the cotton mills in the 1960s, New Lanark has now been beautifully restored as a living community and is one of Scotland’s top visitor attractions, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 38 spacious and elegant twin or double bedrooms of the New Lanark Mill Hotel enjoy spectacular views over the river and surrounding conservation area. Eight self-catering cottages, literally on the river, are also available.
The restaurant specialises in Scottish cuisine using local produce whenever possible. There are also conference and banqueting facilities for up to 200 guests.
