All of the 33 rooms have been designed to provide you with the comfort and class you would expect from Edinburgh's second castle. Although individually designed, all of the rooms, including the standard rooms, have every comfort the modern guest could wish for. Whether you are recovering after a hard day of outdoor pursuits, or just want a little time to unwind in your own company, you are sure to feel very much at home. Enjoy a classic meal in the warm & welcoming Brasserie, situated in the castle's vaulted cellars. Treat yourself with tea & cakes in the Ante Room, or relax with a drink or two in the Cellar Bar or on the sunny terrace overlooking the picturesque grounds and the North Esk River.

Breakfast is served from: 7:15am - 9:15am (mon-sat) 8am-10am (sunday) By car From The West (City Centre and Edinburgh Airport) Head for the City Bypass (which is well signed) and follow it eastbound. Exit at Gilmerton Junction and follow the road signs for Eskbank. The gates to Melville Castle will appear on your right hand side about 1km from the bypass slip road. From the East Head for the City Bypass (which is well signed) and follow it westbound. At the Sheriffhall Roundabout take the A68, followed by the first turning on the right onto Melville Gate Road. The gates to Melville Castle are opposite the end of Melville Gate Road. By train Edinburgh has two train stations, Waverly Station and Haymarket Station. For Melville Castle it is recommended to use Waverly station as it is in the heart of the city centre with various transport links to the castle. First Scotrail runs regular trains from Glasgow to Edinburgh Waverley. By plane Edinburgh International Airport is situated on the outskirts of the city. The most direct and convenient transport to the hotel is by taxi, which will take around 20 minutes and cost approximately £25. The most economic route (although the longest) is to take to the frequent Airport Bus direct to the city centre at a cost of £3. From the city centre, take the number 3 bus from Princes Street, which will take you to the gates of the castle driveway at a cost of £1. This option will take approximately 1 hour.
