Greater Glasgow and the Clyde Valley is becoming one of the most vibrant and beautiful destinations in the UK, if not Europe. Glasgow, a city of architecture and design, with many impressive buildings from the old to the new. Glasgow's waterfront and city centre has an all round buzz, with the best shopping in the UK outside London and some of the best restaurants you can find. Surrounding Glasgow are the rolling hills of the Clyde Valley, often referred to as "Scotland's Market Garden", with a host of well stocked garden centres.

Within a one hours drive of Glasgow, there are many places worth a visit. New Lanark Mill Heritage Site, with its old mills, and cottages - an area full of splendour. There are easily graded walks along the River Clyde, renowned for its wildlife, and is one of Scotland World Heritage sites.

To the east of Glasgow, there's some magnificent walks around Helensburgh and East Dumbartonshire, and the West Highland Way starts from Milngavie and finishes in Fort William some 100 miles further north and is recognised as one of the best walks in the UK.

All around Glasgow there are many golf courses, many which can be booked from your hotel, so please ask for details when making your booking.

Glasgow itself has an amazing array of 20 museums & galleries, most are free including the world famous Burrell Collection , Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Riverside Museum and the stunning Rennie McIntosh House. There are over 200 arts organisations, including Scottish Ballet and Scottish Opera. There's plenty for the family too, with 3 theatres, IMAX cinema , Glasgow science centre and the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden, to name but a few.
