The exterior of the hotel is covered in ivy which changes colour as the summer progresses and at the front is a large sprawling clematis. The garden is bordered by rose bushes and other colourful shrubs.

The lounge at the Loch Kinord hotel has comfortable sofas in front of the large fireplace; guest can also enjoy the views of the garden from the large bay window. The Whisky Bar, which adjoins the lounge, has a selection of Scottish malts and beers to sample.
The Hollytree Tavern is located to the rear of the Loch Kinord hotel in a separate building and is a traditional Scottish pub. The tavern offers a range of entertainment from live Scottish music, huge screen TV with Sky sports, pool table, darts and jukebox. The tavern is also very popular with the locals from Dinnet and Ballater
