BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 17 Jul 2010 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: Found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. Location was great. The bread with the meal was scrumptious and the meal was really tasty and value for money. Finished the lot.
Only comment we had was that the bedroom window should be larger and lower to take full advantage of the view over the water whilst sitting. Still 10 out of 10 |

Only poor point was condensation had got between the double glazing and the hinges had failed so closing the window was awkward. |

BEDROOMS _ 3 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 3 / 10 STAYED _ 16 Feb 2010 | Deborah Broadley said the following about Onich Hotel: We booked a twin room but got a double. The matress was well past it's sell-by date and requires to be renewed, most uncomfortable. TV had no reception so was pointless being there. Restaurant not available as no-one had put the heating on, all meals are served in the bar. The shower pressure is terrible, hardly enough to get your hair wet enough to wash. Not a good experience all round. |

Food was fantastic, the staff were absolutely brilliant they could not do enough for you. Nicky at Reception did a very good job at multi tasking!! (i.e. hotel was short on staff). Accommodation was good but the room needed a little tlc but it was very comfortable.

BEDROOMS _ 3 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 12 Oct 2009 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: Bedroom a bit "tired", en-suite with rust around the bath, squeaky floor and impossible to sit on the loo without burning/freezing your leg on the towel rail. Menu didn't change in the three nights there. Staff excellent, friendly and (for a change) local. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 18 Sep 2009 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: Stayed here as part of a wee trip around the area.
Arrived early and was meet by the friendliest receptionist I have ever meet. She was chatty and very helpful and gave us a lovely room with great views. We had planned to dine in the restaurant but she informed us there was a large party due in and asked if was ok if we ate in the bar area. We had no issues with this and she offered us a free drink to compensate for any inconvenience.
Our room was large with 3 windows overlooking the lovely gardens and Loch. The room had everything you would need. TV, Kettle, Hairdryer etc.
The Bar area was friendly, cosy and warm but also had a large conservatory which you could drink/eat in. This had fantastic views out over the Loch. The Bar also had a pool table and large screen tv in a separate room.
The food was hearty and wholesome and did the job.
After dinner had a walk along the beach at the bottom of the garden.
Would happily stay here again |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Aug 2009 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: The upside of this hotel is it has a great view over the water but it also sits on a very busy main road, with little space around it which is a downside. The best that can be said are the staff are efficient and polite and the hotel is clean. The rooms are very much in the chain hotel style, fit for purpose and clean but very average. The food is distinctly average, and I had to send my main course evening meal back to the kitchen as the minced meat was uncooked, to the extent of still bleeding. This is basic food hygiene. Ok for a one night stay but not value for money.

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 29 Jan 2008 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: We have stayed at the hotel previously but this time it was fantastic. The food was fantastic with a wide variety of food and having experienced both the restuarant and bar food it was vey commendable. They also went out of their way to accomodate someone within our party who had a special dietry need. The customer service received was exceptional, they would go out of their way to assist with any issues / concerns / requests you had.It was very evident that they all worked as one team and that the most important factor was the customer. There was a number of us within our party, some who stayed here for the first time and I am so pleased we picked this hotel because they were so impressed and recommended it to others.

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 2 Oct 2007 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: We have just returned from a 1 night stay here, the location is second to none and the hotel was stunning. We had a room on the top floor overlooking the Loch, the room was clean and very comfortable, we could not have asked for more.We booked on a diner bed and breakfast deal, so we had diner in the restaurant. Oh what a dissapointment, it was nowhere near the standard we expected. We had a chicken liver ravioli to start with which was fine, then as it was Sunday we opted for roast beef, the beef was so tough and over cooked we could have soled our shoes with it. I then had creme brulee, from past experiences I know this should have a carmalised top (where the brulee or burnt part of the creme brulee comes from) what I had tasted nice enough but certainly was not creme brulee, no carmalised top.I did discover that they are and have been running the kitchens in the hotel with relief chefs the quicker they find a permenent chef the better and I hope they do befor they lose any rossetts for their food.If you are considering booking here, I highly recommend the accomodation, but you may consider either eating in the bar or going out to diner while they sort their staff problem in the kitchen out.

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 15 Sep 2007 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: we'd often driven past this hotel and decided we'd like to stay here, we weren't disappointed!, we'd asked for a room at the rear of hotel and thats what we got, a room with a stunning view over the loch, lovely gardens and it was nice to be able to take drinks right down to the shore, dinner was excellent as was breakfast, the one thing that confused me was why was the hotel bar completely empty after 9 o'clock? this place should be heaving every night

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 31 Aug 2007 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: This was a fantastic hotel situated right on a Loch. The food was superb and the service was excellent. It's positioning was easy to find and although on a main road to Fort William the noise was minimal. I would gladly go back if I return to Scotland.

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 11 Aug 2007 | A guest said the following about Onich Hotel: We have just returned from a holiday at the Onich Hotel. After booking this hotel I was a little worried when I read some of the reviews but I shouldn't have been. On arrival we were booked in by a very polite receptionist and shown to our room(top floor loch facing). The room was clean and well presented with amazing views. We did not use the restaurant but chose to use the bar(also with breathtaking views) where we had excellent bar meals which were very good value. The hotel had residents of all ages there ranging from young babies to people in their 80's. Throughout our stay all staff we had dealings with were both polite and friendly. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay just a shame the weather wasn't better!!
