Captains' Rooms

Follow in the footsteps of the great travellers of the past and seek out one of these large well appointed bedrooms. Refurbished within the last year, these rooms boast magnificent west facing views over Oban Bay to the Hebridean Island of Mull and the mountains of Morvern.

Ocean View Rooms

Premium Ocean View rooms guarantee uninterrupted west facing views as above with feature bed. All have a distinct character and have been fully refurbished within the last year and are standard in size.

Standard Rooms

Most standard rooms are of a similar size and standard to Ocean View rooms but have a view to McCaig's Folly or the Soroba Hills; some are more compact but have an Ocean View. Two disabled rooms are also available.

The Restaurant Caledonian is a Victorian dining room, carefully restored with chandeliers and ornate plaster. Each day the chefs create a fine dining menu which skillfully reflects the best of Scotland’s larder. All of the dishes are freshly cooked using care and imagination, a fusion of modern and traditional Scottish and International cuisine.

The Café Caledonian boasts wonderful views of the bay, a menu for all day dining and a cosmopolitan wine list.

By Car
Coming from the South via Glasgow you will travel on the A82 Glasgow to Fort William road to Tyndrum where you join the A85 to Oban.

Coming from the North via Fort William take the A82 and cross the Ballachulish Bridge, when you come to a roundabout take the left hand (Oban – A828) exit. Follow the road across the Connel Bridge and at the T-junction turn left for Oban.

By Train
First ScotRail runs twice daily trains from Queen Street Station in Glasgow.

By Coach
Citylink coaches stop directly outside the hotel and there are daily services from Glasgow, Inverness, Perth and Dundee.

By Ferry
Ferries from Mull, Colonsay, the Western Isles and more sail and berth just beyond the front door!
