The West Highland Hotel, Mallaig has 49 bedrooms, each with private facilities and colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, shaving sockets and guest controlled electric heating. Many of the rooms have sea views and look out onto the isles, ideal for relaxing short breaks.

The Island View Restaurant is well named as you can watch the world go by, or see the ships plying their trade between the isles and mainland. The West Highland Hotel, Mallaig is also situated at the end one of Scotland's popular tourist routes - The Road to the Isles. The Road to the Isles runs from Fort William to Glenfinnan and Lochailort, through Arisaig and Morar ending at Mallaig and is a route steeped in history. It was along this route that Bonnie Prince Charlie found safety and security in this lovely area of the Scottish Highlands.
Another popular route is the West Highland Line by train from Fort William to Mallaig; in the summer months you can enjoy a piece of nostalgia and take the Steam Train along this route.
The harbour town of Mallaig was at one time the most flourishing fishing ports in Scotland and still to this present day the harbour is full of life and activity as boats come in and unload their catch.
Directions to the West Highland Hotel, Mallaig
The railway station and ferry terminal are each within a five minutes' walk.
On approaching Mallaig follow the main road into the village, turn right at the small roundabout, then take the next right up the hill approximately 200 yards further on. Follow this road and the hotel is located about another 200 yards on the left.
