The DBB rate has a fairly restrictive table d'hote menu with only 2 choices per course but the food was good. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 4 / 10 STAYED _ 7 Aug 2010 | Samantha Taylor said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: First of all through no fault of the hotel classic britain didn't make sure our requirements were met even though I phoned and explained everything we needed having a wheelchair user with us. The hotel itself was very nice, the wheelchair access room is to put it bluntly useless, far too small, no hand/grab rails whatsoever even in the shower enclosure which makes showering dangerous as their is nothing for you to hold on to when you are sitting on the shower chair. The taps were very hard to turn on and off and in my opinion in a disabled access room should be the lever type. Although the food looked to a high standard there wasn't enough of it and it was quite bland...the bar meals looked better although we didn't get to try them as when I went to order I was refused as "the kitchen staff were overwhelmed due to a coach tour coming in" Obviously I wasn't very pleased as we were paying guests on a 2 night stay, bar staff spoke to kitchen staff and I was advised we could have sandwiches, ordered two tuna and sweetcorn on brown bread and we got two plain tuna white paninis instead, Seen the coach trip arriving...lucky if there were 20 peaople on it! I could have catered for that many! We asked for coffee in the lounge on our 2nd night stay and got it 50 minutes later. Upon checking out manager on duty didn't ask me if I had had a nice stay or if everything was ok , just took the keys and said thank you. Overall the hotel is nice and clean, location is stunning, bar, restraunt, spa ,and room staff were all very friendly and lovely, the 3 managers that I dealt with need to brush up on their customer service skills.....in my humble opinion, I actually felt as did my colleauge that having a wheelchair user with learning disabilities with us made us invisible sometimes to some of the staff. |

BEDROOMS _ 2 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 21 May 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The Loch Fyne Hotel itself is lovely. The room we had was a family room on the attic floor. It was nice to find that there was a proper single bed for my son rather than a cot bed that we have had at other hotels. However, because we were on the top floor the eves were quite bad and had to be careful getting in and out of bed at that side. Also there had been a hole knocked into the toilet door. Toilet itself was clean but very small. We felt the room we had was quite basic for the money we paid. We found the facilities in the rest of the hotel were absolutly fine, restaurant food was delicious. As we were only there for 2 nights we decided not to ask to be moved but was disappointed in the room we had been allocated. |

BEDROOMS _ 0 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 14 May 2010 | Sharon Reilly said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Setting of the hotel is beautiful.
Ample parking.
Staff at reception were welcoming on our arrival.
All public areas in the hotel appear to have been updated recently however this was a very different story for our room. First impressions were that the room was dated-a mixture of 1970's furniture and a stained carpet greeted us. There was an old TV resting on a stand that appeared unsafe as it was quite clear that tv and stand did not belong together. The general cleanliness of the room left alot to be desired-dust on most surfaces and skirting boards and a squashed spider/fly on the wall. The bathroom in general was dated and in desperate need of an upgrade-paintwork was flaking, sealant round bathtub required to be replaced and ceramic tiles instead of linoleum on the bathroom floor is a standard I expect from most hotels.
My disappointment with my accomodation was alleviated slightly as the staff in the hotel were friendly and the food in the restaurant was enjoyable. I also enjoyed using the leisure facilities at the hotel.
Lot's of positives in respect of location, staff and public areas within the hotel however could do alot better in respect of actual accomodation. Thanks. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 4 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 20 Mar 2010 | Robert Hughes said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Hi,we have just returned from a weekend at the Loch Fyne and would just like to pass on a few points to the hotel.First we really enjoyed our stay in the hotel, but a couple of things took the shine of it,firstly we booked our evening meal for 8 o' clock and arrived at 7.55 and were shown to our table, we were quickly asked if we would like bread with our dinner and bread was quickly provided, we were not asked if we wanted any drinks while we waited and after ordering our starters and mains we were left sitting for a full 20 mins,we then recieved our starters and asked the floor manager for a bottle of wine, he took the order and then dissappeared never to be seen again, now I must assure you that the restaurant was less than half full so could not understand the wait, we then got the attention of the barman who was through helping out and told him we had ordered the wine, but still not recieved it, he promptly went to the bar and returned with our wine within mins, if only the rest of the staff were as efficient,we also noticed that all the resaurant staff would constantly walk past our table not even thinking to stop and clear our starter plates which lay for about15/20 mins. When our mains arrived two of them were wrong, two of us had asked for pork belly, and were served pork chops, when the waiter was informed of our order, he told us that the pork belly was finished, and had no one came to tell us, which the reply was no.The breakfasts were lovely and the staff were very good, just wish I could say the same for our evening meal. The other small thing was that the room we stayed in was nice and clean but our room had a bad slope at our bed and felt as if the blood was going to our head, we changed the pillows to the other end the next night. (room 10)We like the Loch Fyne Hotel but just hope the standards are not slipping. The spa facilities are excellent and we did have a good time, and yes we will be returning.

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 4 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 13 Feb 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Family bedrooms are rather cramped-just a put you up bed in a more or less standard room-which is itself fine. Table d'hote menu fairly basic sometimes. If you move on to the a la carte, which is very limited,it seems you do not carry any cash allowance from the set menu you have opted not to have ie a la carte dishes are a straight supplement on top. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 23 Jan 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Lovely hotel and delighted my parents were given a suite on arrival, especially as it was their joint 65th birthday, it made it all the more special. Dinner was great, although breakfast was a bit disappointing - dried out scrambled egg with black bits through it was not good! Also disappointed our shower did not work and we had to request toilet paper as our room had not been re-stocked. The flowers I requested for my parents were beautiful & well worth the money. All in all, great value for money in a beautiful setting. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 3 / 10 STAYED _ 3 Jan 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We had an enjoyable couple of days at Loch Fyne Hotel, which is in a superb location. The pool and spa were a bonus. Other things let the hotel down unfortunately. We upgraded to a superior room which was nice but felt the charge for the upgrade was a bit excessive. We felt the food was disappointing and the set menu a bit restrictive and unimaginative. The diningroom and lounge area lacked atmosphere. Candles on the tables and lamps could improve this, rather than overhead spot lights. The staff were all professional and attentive. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 0 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Breakfast was tasty, the staff were friendly- but totally inefficient! After 40 min wait for full breakfast, also had to ask for milk, teaspoons, CUPS, butter ( what was provided did 2 half slices of toast, when u get 6 halves provided). EVERY other table that i could see were the same. One couple beside us asked someone to take their order FOUR times-eventually after 40 MINUTES someone DID!
I've been to this hotel 5 times - what a difference in the standard of service!
The reception staff were very efficient.
The food portions were like the butter portions-starters and desserts miniscule. |

We particularly enjoyed the small portions of starter, soup etc- tasty but adequate and a good helping for the main course- nice to leave the table satisfied but not stuffed!!!!!!!!Should take more time next time to enjoy the leisure pool, steam room etc.Very good value for money, especially midweek. |

The only down side would be not being able to use the bar although we were residents after it closed. The food was lovely although menu wasn't extensive but for the price wasn't a big deal. Staff very helpful and polite. The pool/hot-tub etc was excellent also. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 1 / 10 FOOD _ 3 / 10 STAYED _ 7 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Lovely hotel, unfortunately disappointed paying extra to include dinner. We did not have a choice of menu & if we didn't like the set menu we would have to pay the full price from the main menu. I would suggest they deduct the amount you have already paid for dinner and allow you to choose what you want from the main menu. When the soup arrived - it was a small cup, you couldn't even fit in a soup spoon it was so small!! So you had to drink from the cup. Service was appalling - very slow. We got fed up waiting on dessert & walked out after being in the resturant 1hr 30 mins |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 25 Oct 2009 | Emma Leishman said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The bedroom was ok although I would not have said it was fancy enough to call it a honeymoon suite. The service was fine, the food choices were unusual, starter and soup portions tiny and to be honest we were not very impressed with it. The spa was excellent, hot tub was hot on Sunday and lukewarm on Monday. Despite sending a message saying we were on our honeymoon it was not even acknowledged by staff. |

House keeping disappointing, room was not cleaned until 4pm on our 2nd day. When I complained was told staff were working their way round! Requested new towels for the room after using them after our swim but did not recieve them and had to use the same towels the next day! |

BEDROOMS _ 3 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 6 / 10 STAYED _ 12 Oct 2009 | Joyce Adamson said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The hotel was very busy on our first night and the restaurant staff were run off their feet. The choice on the menu was limited and we could not transfer an allowance to the hotel's Bistro menu. We would have had to pay the full price over and above paying for dinner already as part of our deal. We were told it was "hotel policy". We thought this was unacceptable since other hotels we have stayed in have been happy to transfer a dinner allowance to other menus. There was, however, a better choice on the second night's menu. The remote control for the TV worked occasionally!! The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in. It had obviously seen better days and creaked and squeaked at every turn. The swimming pool and poolside area led off through a door from reception, but we noticed there was always a strong smell of chlorine in the reception area and through to the lounge which was a bit overpowering at times. That said, the hotel itself was in a beautiful setting and the room, bathroom and other areas were clean. We just felt that staff needed to be a bit more "guest friendly". |

We were so glad we did as we could not fault our experience. The hotel was warm and clean. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was well presented and tasty. Overall, excellent value for money and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 29 Sep 2009 | Keith Dyet said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Hotel, great, staff very pleasant, spa facilities excellent.
Unfortunately, service and quality of food in the restuarant was very inconsistent during our stay, after making our comments to the hotel manager he gave us his personal assurance that dinner that evening would be faultless, again, was not up to the standard that we would expect, we waited forty minutes between our starter and our main course with no one coming forward after our starter to clear our table, also on the morning before dinner that day, after a long wait our breakfast arrived and my wifes breakfast was stone cold and the presentation of the food was very poor indeed which the waiter apologised for and we then waited a further twenty minutes and still no breakfast at which point we both left the dining room quite dissapointed.
This is such a pity as the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 2 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Sep 2009 | Neil MacLeod said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: This hotel is undoubtably in a stunning setting, with decent Spa facilities and clean, if not a little dated, bedrooms – however, the service provided by this hotel is probably one of the worst I have ever experienced with the well known Fawlty Towers scenario springing to mind.
Dinner service (as part of two night stay with dinner included one night) was poor, but the breakfast service was incredibly bad. The first of our two days, saw us waiting forty minutes for just our order to be taken, tables not fully set so constantly asking for cutlery and coffee brought and left by staff with no cups! The waiting staff don’t seem to be managed in any way at all and are not even apologetic for keeping you waiting. The Receptionist on departure was also uninterested, with not so much as a 'did you enjoy your stay/was everything ok', nor a goodbye. The service at this hotel lets it down so badly and would not return. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Sep 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We really enjoyed our stay at the Loch Fyne Hotel. It's a great hotel, nice decor with a Scottish twist. In general we were most impressed but felt the service in the restaurant on our first night was rather poor. My cutlery/glasses were back-to-front (i.e. forks places to right instead of left etc), service was very slow; we didn't get offered water and bread roll until half-way through our main-course. The following night the restaurant was quieter and the service had definitely improved, so we just put the previous experience down to a very busy restuarant that was perhaps short-staffed. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. |

The drive to the hotel was spectacular and the views over the Loch were fabulous. The food and service in the restaurant was first class - really lovely. The reception staff were helpful. The room - although not the most modern we have ever stayed in (had the slightly damp smell you often find in older properties) were clean. Overall, we had a lovely time and would defiately stay there at some point in the future. |

To be clear, you pay for DBB at the deal rate and have to pay the full A La Carte price as well. This is ludicrous and i have never had that issue in any other hotel. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 1 / 10 FOOD _ 1 / 10 STAYED _ 5 Jul 2009 | wilma hutchison said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: the hotel is in an excellent location. very clean however the service from staff was very slow. Our wine arrived with our sweet, we ordered it before we ordered anything from menu. No teaspoons available at breakfast ! We were unlucky to arrive on a day Inverary had a power cut - management tried very hard to keep customers happy by providing a 4 cours meal no matter what, however soup and sandwiches would have been more appreciated. The meal was not nice, veg. undercooked, potato overcooked the only thing we enjoyed was the soup. No discount was offered. very disappointed. My husband and I took both our mums for a treat.
Breakfast the next day was again very slow, we ate out that night however the breakfast on the day we left arrived at our table very quickly and we did enjoy it. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 0 / 10 STAYED _ 5 Jul 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: with an electricity cut of Inverary we were without proper choice of the normal menu, fair enough?.however, when the only choices were pork a,la microwave or the previous weeks fish I decided I,d just have the cheeseboard instead, £6.50 supplement? whan I argued the point with the none too experienced manager (cough)I eventually left the restaurant with no dinner at all :(
It is such a shame as we,ve been to this hotel umpteen times, the food has been "ok" at best but this visit was ridiculous...If I were to give advice to whoever owns the hotel "change your head chef and bin the microwave, who knows with better food ther,s no reason why it should,nt be a 4 star establishment |

We'll be back soon and have already recommended the Loch Fyne Hotel to family & friends. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 2 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 3 Jul 2009 | P Smith said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: I was very disappointed by the service at breakfast on both days. The staff appeared to be totally overwhelmed by the number of residents and appeared to be in 'panic mode'. The quality of food was poor, breakfast on day one appeared to have been blasted in the microwave and on day 2 I asked for pached egg and recieved 1 egg and 1 slice of toast.
The lack of bar service in the evening was very disappointing and lacked complete atmosphere.
I think the hotel is missing a trick and should cater for guests in the evening, I think the residents at Loch Fyne were at the George meaning the Loch Fyne was loosing a great deal of trade |

If anyone doesn't enjoy a relaxing break at this hotel, what do they want, Sunshine, Sea, Sand, & Sangria, well go to Spain

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 4 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 26 Jun 2009 | Michelle Clark said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The rooms here are generous and clean. The room facilities are well provided. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a lovely feel about it. The only criticism I would have is the length of time it takes for you to be served your dinner/breakfast. The restaurant is unorganised and the waiting staff are stressed. There are silly mistakes made that could be easily rectified by the organisation of the waiting staff. The treatments are excellent and reasonably priced. |

Food a hit and miss affair, whilst one dinner and one breakfast was good the other dinner and breakfast we had was not, dinner being tasteless and breakfast cold. Also tea and coffee cold on both days of our stay. However fresh tea and coffee supplied upon request. Also not enough choice of wine by the glass. I would not pay a return visit |
