BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 4 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 13 Feb 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Family bedrooms are rather cramped-just a put you up bed in a more or less standard room-which is itself fine. Table d'hote menu fairly basic sometimes. If you move on to the a la carte, which is very limited,it seems you do not carry any cash allowance from the set menu you have opted not to have ie a la carte dishes are a straight supplement on top. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 23 Jan 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Lovely hotel and delighted my parents were given a suite on arrival, especially as it was their joint 65th birthday, it made it all the more special. Dinner was great, although breakfast was a bit disappointing - dried out scrambled egg with black bits through it was not good! Also disappointed our shower did not work and we had to request toilet paper as our room had not been re-stocked. The flowers I requested for my parents were beautiful & well worth the money. All in all, great value for money in a beautiful setting. |

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 3 Jan 2010 | Kevin Maguire said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: the only complaint we have is the lift was not working when we arrived and took 2 of the 3 days we were there to fix as my husband is disabled this was a bit of a problem as no offer of help with luggage was forecoming the rest of our break was fine and we would use this hotel again |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 3 / 10 STAYED _ 3 Jan 2010 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We had an enjoyable couple of days at Loch Fyne Hotel, which is in a superb location. The pool and spa were a bonus. Other things let the hotel down unfortunately. We upgraded to a superior room which was nice but felt the charge for the upgrade was a bit excessive. We felt the food was disappointing and the set menu a bit restrictive and unimaginative. The diningroom and lounge area lacked atmosphere. Candles on the tables and lamps could improve this, rather than overhead spot lights. The staff were all professional and attentive. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 0 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Breakfast was tasty, the staff were friendly- but totally inefficient! After 40 min wait for full breakfast, also had to ask for milk, teaspoons, CUPS, butter ( what was provided did 2 half slices of toast, when u get 6 halves provided). EVERY other table that i could see were the same. One couple beside us asked someone to take their order FOUR times-eventually after 40 MINUTES someone DID!
I've been to this hotel 5 times - what a difference in the standard of service!
The reception staff were very efficient.
The food portions were like the butter portions-starters and desserts miniscule. |

We particularly enjoyed the small portions of starter, soup etc- tasty but adequate and a good helping for the main course- nice to leave the table satisfied but not stuffed!!!!!!!!Should take more time next time to enjoy the leisure pool, steam room etc.Very good value for money, especially midweek. |

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 7 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: 7 of us for the weekend as a birthday treat had a fantastic weekend. The only down side would be not being able to use the bar although we were residents after it closed. The food was lovely although menu wasn't extensive but for the price wasn't a big deal. Staff very helpful and polite. The pool/hot-tub etc was excellent also. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 1 / 10 FOOD _ 3 / 10 STAYED _ 7 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Lovely hotel, unfortunately disappointed paying extra to include dinner. We did not have a choice of menu & if we didn't like the set menu we would have to pay the full price from the main menu. I would suggest they deduct the amount you have already paid for dinner and allow you to choose what you want from the main menu. When the soup arrived - it was a small cup, you couldn't even fit in a soup spoon it was so small!! So you had to drink from the cup. Service was appalling - very slow. We got fed up waiting on dessert & walked out after being in the resturant 1hr 30 mins |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 25 Oct 2009 | Emma Leishman said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The bedroom was ok although I would not have said it was fancy enough to call it a honeymoon suite. The service was fine, the food choices were unusual, starter and soup portions tiny and to be honest we were not very impressed with it. The spa was excellent, hot tub was hot on Sunday and lukewarm on Monday. Despite sending a message saying we were on our honeymoon it was not even acknowledged by staff. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 14 Oct 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Good location. Food excellent. House keeping disappointing, room was not cleaned until 4pm on our 2nd day. When I complained was told staff were working their way round! On 1st day had to wait 20mins before we could use pool as it was busy with families who were not staying in hotel. Requested new towels for the room after using them after our swim but did not recieve them and had to use the same towels the next day! |

BEDROOMS _ 3 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 6 / 10 STAYED _ 12 Oct 2009 | Joyce Adamson said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The hotel was very busy on our first night and the restaurant staff were run off their feet. The choice on the menu was limited and we could not transfer an allowance to the hotel's Bistro menu. We would have had to pay the full price over and above paying for dinner already as part of our deal. We were told it was "hotel policy". We thought this was unacceptable since other hotels we have stayed in have been happy to transfer a dinner allowance to other menus. There was, however, a better choice on the second night's menu. The remote control for the TV worked occasionally!! The bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept in. It had obviously seen better days and creaked and squeaked at every turn. The swimming pool and poolside area led off through a door from reception, but we noticed there was always a strong smell of chlorine in the reception area and through to the lounge which was a bit overpowering at times. That said, the hotel itself was in a beautiful setting and the room, bathroom and other areas were clean. We just felt that staff needed to be a bit more "guest friendly". |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 7 Oct 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Very friendly staff, rooms clean, warm and well equipped. BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 6 Oct 2009 | Brian Chapman said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Having read some negative guest comments on the internet after we had booked our break, it was with some trepidation that we decided to go anyway. We were so glad we did as we could not fault our experience. The hotel was warm and clean. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was well presented and tasty. Overall, excellent value for money and we would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 29 Sep 2009 | Keith Dyet said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Hotel, great, staff very pleasant, spa facilities excellent.
Unfortunately, service and quality of food in the restuarant was very inconsistent during our stay, after making our comments to the hotel manager he gave us his personal assurance that dinner that evening would be faultless, again, was not up to the standard that we would expect, we waited forty minutes between our starter and our main course with no one coming forward after our starter to clear our table, also on the morning before dinner that day, after a long wait our breakfast arrived and my wifes breakfast was stone cold and the presentation of the food was very poor indeed which the waiter apologised for and we then waited a further twenty minutes and still no breakfast at which point we both left the dining room quite dissapointed.
This is such a pity as the rest of our stay was very enjoyable. |

BEDROOMS _ 4 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 28 Sep 2009 | Joseph Tosh said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Hotel in beautiful location, staff helpful, but room and food not up to standard we expected. Our bed was extremely uncomfortable - was replaced after 1st sleepless night.Problems with plumbing were also sorted out on our 2nd day.We realise the best rooms will be for guests paying full tariff, but it is sad that, based on our experience, we would not recommend the hotel to others. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 28 Sep 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Excellent value, helpful friendly staff although training require for helping disabled guests. Food excellent for the budget. Breakfast a bit slow. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 2 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Sep 2009 | Neil MacLeod said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: This hotel is undoubtably in a stunning setting, with decent Spa facilities and clean, if not a little dated, bedrooms – however, the service provided by this hotel is probably one of the worst I have ever experienced with the well known Fawlty Towers scenario springing to mind.
Dinner service (as part of two night stay with dinner included one night) was poor, but the breakfast service was incredibly bad. The first of our two days, saw us waiting forty minutes for just our order to be taken, tables not fully set so constantly asking for cutlery and coffee brought and left by staff with no cups! The waiting staff don’t seem to be managed in any way at all and are not even apologetic for keeping you waiting. The Receptionist on departure was also uninterested, with not so much as a 'did you enjoy your stay/was everything ok', nor a goodbye. The service at this hotel lets it down so badly and would not return. |
6 / 10
BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Sep 2009 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We really enjoyed our stay at the Loch Fyne Hotel. It's a great hotel, nice decor with a Scottish twist. In general we were most impressed but felt the service in the restaurant on our first night was rather poor. My cutlery/glasses were back-to-front (i.e. forks places to right instead of left etc), service was very slow; we didn't get offered water and bread roll until half-way through our main-course. The following night the restaurant was quieter and the service had definitely improved, so we just put the previous experience down to a very busy restuarant that was perhaps short-staffed. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends. |

The drive to the hotel was spectacular and the views over the Loch were fabulous. The food and service in the restaurant was first class - really lovely. The reception staff were helpful. The room - although not the most modern we have ever stayed in (had the slightly damp smell you often find in older properties) were clean. Overall, we had a lovely time and would defiately stay there at some point in the future. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 2 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 2 Aug 2009 | Ian McGregor said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: If you book a Dinner B & B deal but subsequently decide to eat from the A La Carte menu the hotel has a policy of not transferring an allowance from your DBB deal to your A La Carte bil. To be clear, you pay for DBB at the deal rate and have to pay the full A La Carte price as well. This is ludicrous and i have never had that issue in any other hotel. |

I also thought the information in relation to the hotel was scarce for guests and overall the service was adequate, however there was a wedding on whilst we visited so perhaps the staff were a bit stretched. |

A la carte menu was impressive but we were on D/BB rate and that menu was poor , Breakfast was excellant as were staff in all areas of Hotel so despite the negative points we would still return to the hotel and would use other hotels in the Classic Britain chain. |

Our wine arrived with our sweet, we ordered it before we ordered anything from menu. No teaspoons available at breakfast ! We were unlucky to arrive on a day Inverary had a power cut - management tried very hard to keep customers happy by providing a 4 cours meal no matter what, however soup and sandwiches would have been more appreciated. The meal was not nice, veg. undercooked, potato overcooked the only thing we enjoyed was the soup. No discount was offered. very disappointed. My husband and I took both our mums for a treat.
Breakfast the next day was again very slow, we ate out that night however the breakfast on the day we left arrived at our table very quickly and we did enjoy it. |

It is such a shame as we,ve been to this hotel umpteen times, the food has been "ok" at best but this visit was ridiculous...If I were to give advice to whoever owns the hotel "change your head chef and bin the microwave, who knows with better food ther,s no reason why it should,nt be a 4 star establishment |

The staff appeared to be totally overwhelmed by the number of residents and appeared to be in 'panic mode'. The quality of food was poor, breakfast on day one appeared to have been blasted in the microwave and on day 2 I asked for pached egg and recieved 1 egg and 1 slice of toast.
The lack of bar service in the evening was very disappointing and lacked complete atmosphere.
I think the hotel is missing a trick and should cater for guests in the evening, I think the residents at Loch Fyne were at the George meaning the Loch Fyne was loosing a great deal of trade |

If anyone doesn't enjoy a relaxing break at this hotel, what do they want, Sunshine, Sea, Sand, & Sangria, well go to Spain

The room facilities are well provided. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a lovely feel about it. The only criticism I would have is the length of time it takes for you to be served your dinner/breakfast. The restaurant is unorganised and the waiting staff are stressed. There are silly mistakes made that could be easily rectified by the organisation of the waiting staff. The treatments are excellent and reasonably priced. |

EVERY other table that i could see were the same. One couple beside us asked someone to take their order FOUR times-eventually after 40 MINUTES someone DID! I've been to this hotel 5 times - what a difference in the standard of service! The reception staff were very efficient. BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 6 / 10 STAYED _ 24 Apr 2009 | C Dundas said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: The dinner bed & breakfast deal was certainly good value, but I have to say I felt that we did not receive the same quality as if we were full paying guests. The set menu appeared very varied and sounded delicious, but when the food arrived (a little too quickly) it was bland and was very apparent it had been made on mass ready for the dinner service. The bedroom/bathroom were a little tired in terms of decor and we had one of the most uncomfortable beds I have even slept on, which also managed to keep me awake by creaking every time I turned over. Our room wasn't as thoroughly cleaned as I would expect either, e.g. the cups and teapot were not emptied/cleaned. I am disappointed as the location is beautiful, and the hotel facilities and service overall were great, it just seems that the little touches that weren't so good seemed to add up somewhat. With new mattresses in place, I would however recommend that people take the time to visit. |

Only complaint was that it was far too hot both in hotel restaurant and in rooms on 1st evening. The hotel has electric central heating which i suspect has to be adjusted in advance and as the weather was sunny and warm for time of year when we arrived i think they'd been caught out. Temperature in hotel much more comfortable on 2nd evening. Would visit this hotel again. |

The price of drink in the bar is well over the top, we ended up walking to the local pub.
All in all the hotel was clean, but I will not be going DBB just BB would be fine.

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 18 May 2008 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Just returned from a 2 night DBB stay at the Loch Fyne hotel and spa which i booked for £99 per night which was excellent value. On arrival, reception staff very helpful, room adequate for needs, 2 big double beds, lovely bathroom and clean. Despite previous reviews we were pleasantly surprised. Leisure facilities were good, outdoor hot tub was out of service when we went but pool was good as were sauna, steam room and jacuzzi with fabulous views of the loch.
Lovely big bath in room for a good chill our prior to dinner then down to the lovely bar area with big sofas and again friendly staff. Yes the drinks were quite pricey but only what you expect from a hotel. Dinner was lovely in a very spacious dinning room with a table d'hote menu should you wish to make the most of the DBB deal. The a la carte menu was clearly explained to you regarding supplements to be paid. I think it would be more appropriate to give an allowance to be used against the a la carte menu as the price of the table d'hote menu is £24.95 but savings on the courses were onlu amounting to £8. However the food was excellent with superb service. Breakfast was equally as good with excellent service. A great haven to return to following a days exploring and a fab chill our break. Overall a lovely break. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 9 Feb 2008 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We stayed for 2 nights in January on DBB basis. The hotel was very good value for what we paid and when we arrived the staff at reception were very friendly and provided us with all the information we needed. The room we were in was very nice and clean. The food and service in the dining room was excellant and there were 3 choices for each course on the table d'hote menu which was fine but if you wanted something of the main menu this was at an extra charge which was very clearly explained to us and is also printed in brackets on the menu at the side of each item. Breakfast was really good it is help yourself to fruit juice/ceareals/porrdge etc then waited on with a choice of the menu ie full English toast and tea or coffee.
The town is only a short walk away and as said previously the George Hotel is defnately a place to visit, we didn't have a meal there but had a good night out in the bar. The only complaint we would have about the hotel was the heat, we had to have the bedroom window open all night and it was really warm in the dining room but obviously some people would appreciate it. In response, Loch Fyne Hotel said the following: Thank you for your kind words, we are glad that you enjoyed the hotel and the hospitality, we will look forward to welcoming you back soon. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 28 Jan 2008 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Stayed for 3 nights in January for a relaxing break. Reception staff were helpful and friendly on arrival, room was small but clean and had everything you need for a few nights stay. Towels were changed every day.
Food in the restaurant was excellent. We were on DBB and the table d'hote menu had a varied selection which changed every day. Unlike some previous reviews it was made very clear to us that if we wanted to have anything off main menu it would cost extra. But we always found something to eat off our set menu as there were various meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. The service we got was also excellent and we never had to ask for anything.
We also enjoyed using the excellent pool facilities each day, which included a jacuzzi and outdoor hot-tub.
All in all a very enjoyable stay in a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff and superb food. Can't wait to go back in future. In response, Loch Fyne Hotel said the following: Thank you for your kind words. We are glad you enjoyed the food and the service from our staff. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 28 Jan 2008 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: I stayed in the Loch Fyne hotel January this year. I would say overall for a three star it was very good. Clean and all staff very friendly. My room was in the new building and was very nice.
Regarding the comments about the charges on the menu. I don't know if this has just been updated, however the prices and information needed is very clear on the menu ie the price in brackets is the price DBB guest pay extra. This is clearly stated.
The meals were OK. You get what you pay for so a bit party night standard. Breakfast was good.
We took out dog with us and could get in the George hotel bar with her. We had lunch in there, which was fab. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 4 Jan 2008 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We had no issue with the Table D’ Hote menu which was different each night with a varied choice and the food was delicious.
The leisure facilities were fine, operational and clean.
We had a room over looking the loch which was relatively spacious with the only complaint being the bed which was a bit worn at the edge so you tended to fall out if you got too close. For us it was an enjoyable stay and it is a hotel we would return to.

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 23 Oct 2007 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: we had a most enjoyable time there - the staff were all very friendly and helpful, the rooms were cosy (with very comfy beds), and of course the gorgeous location on the banks of the loch all made for a lovely break. As for the (much-criticised elsewhere) food, I would agree that the choice is a bit limited, but in our case we found there was always something to our tastes and was always well presented and cooked. I have also read some complaints about breakfast - however I would have thought that a serving of porridge, cereal, toast, fruit juice, tea or coffee, bacon, sausage, eggs, black pudding, haggis, tomato, beans, sauteed potatoes, muffins and croissants might just be enough to satisfy most people ! All in all we had a lovely time there - I have visited hotels all over Europe and would be very happy to return there one day |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 18 Oct 2007 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: Booked the hotel with a dinner bed and breakfast package that was good value for money. The hotel reception staff were pleasant and helpful. Our room in the extension to the rear was very clean and ample for our short stay. The shower was really powerful, great after a days walking! The large restaurant is staffed by mainly eastern europeans who do a great job and are very pleasant. The food we had was from a table d'hote menu and it was really good, you could pay extra for anything you fancied on the other menu's. I'd definately go back to the Loch Fyne, great for a wee break.

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 13 Jun 2007 | A guest said the following about Loch Fyne Hotel: We stayed at this hotel in June 2007 for our honeymoon because we had read favourable review regarding the treatments that could be offered at Loch Fyne, and particularly about Anne, the therapist.
It was relaxation heaven! We tried most of the massage treaments, full body, head and shoulders, indian head, and foot massages. We also tried the facial treaments and it was pure bliss, using the most amazing products. She is a very skilled practitioner, and the treatments that Anne gave are the best I have ever received; she also specialises in Reiki. If staying I would highly recommed the treatments and specifically request an appt with Anne, as there is more than one therapist at Loch Fyne.
Our experience of the food was great, Looking at the reviews it looks as though there was an issue with quality in September, change of chef? Maybe?
The rooms were fine, and we had a lovely view.
