BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 17 Nov 2009 | James Tracey said the following about Waterside Hotel: The break was great. Only comment we would like to make was that you had stated we would receive a free upgrade of room but this did not happen. When this was raised with the hotel they said this was only subject to availability. The room was adequate but could have been better. The hotel staff were excellent throughout and the food was great and the hotel had a lovely atmosphere. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 16 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: The food was excellent and the choice for breakfast extensive but we would have preferred to have more choice for the main course for dinner as it was from 4 items - chicken, fish, pasta or pork - it would have been good to be able to also have the choice of beef or perhaps fish cooked in a sauce. Having said this the smoked haddock fishcakes as a starter were excellent as was the rest of the food it's just that more choice would have been welcomed. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 12 Nov 2009 | Joseph Bancewicz said the following about Waterside Hotel: Beautifully situated hotel with a wonderful river view from the dining room. Very cosy lounge bar. Rooms over the function room are not well sound insulated and if there is a band playing sleep will be difficult before it stops. However would still recommend this hotel as great value for money. Very close to the town centre and the Eden Court theatre and cinema complex. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 4 Nov 2009 | Elaine Graham said the following about Waterside Hotel: I asked about the free upgrade but was'nt able to get as too busy, but the room was clean and lovely apart from overlooking a wall, could see the river if standing at the window at an angle. As previous comment tne menu is very restricted for dbb guests but what we did have was enjoyable the 3rd night we had the high tea ,would recomend. The location of the hotel is great right on the riverside and only few mins. walk from the town. There's a small lounge with open fire very relaxing place to sit after dinner. We would recomend this hotel and hope to go back again in the future. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 23 Oct 2009 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The food was fantastic although maybe a bit too limited in choice when you are given a seperate menu as part of classic britain. I would rather have had access to the whole menu but be restricted to just 2 courses. On the whole though we really enjoyed our break and the central position of the hotel by the river definately made it more special. |

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 22 Oct 2009 | Nathaniel Marshall said the following about Waterside Hotel: Excellent hotel, only one problem, there seemed to be a lack of communication between classicbritain and the hotel, i phoned classicbritain on the thursday 22nd to say my wife was ill and to tell the hotel we wouldnt be arriving till the friday, when we arrived they knew nothing about this and had us down for a no show otherwise, excellent weekend |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 9 Oct 2009 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: We were given a very small room in the townhouse which we rejected, we were moved to the main hotel and given a room over the function suite, we were kept awake until the funtion finsihed at 1.00am The receptionist very kindly moved us to a larger room in the townhouse the next morning and we had a very good week-end at the Waterside. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 9 Oct 2009 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: Overall enjoyed our stay, but small details let the experience down: limited reception cover even though keys had to be handed in; service in restaurant could be improved - not given wine list, queries with bill, staff unavailable to pay bill. Room decor a little tired but rooms very clean and well serviced during our stay. Staff friendly. Overall good value for money using classic britain for booking. Would stay again. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 8 Apr 2009 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: This was our second time at the Waterside Hotel. We were in a smaller room this time which was a bit disappointing. We could find no fault with the cleanliness of the room and bathrooom. Towels were changed daily if requested. The tv in the room only had the basic terrestrial channels. Most hotels now have Sky with a better choice of channels. Our only complaint about the room was that the pillows were a bit flat. They could have done with being replaced. Staff were helpful and friendly and the food was very good. |

The staff were first class, great food and a nice room. The only small criticism we have is with the shower room, very small, cold and some of the hooks were coming off the wall. |

The location which is right on the river is a bonus. Getting into the hotel car park can be a problem and on street parking during the day is pay on display. Overall we would recommend this hotel. |

Appeared to have been recently refurbished and was a little unfinished in places. However it was very clean, comfortable and spacious ( 2 rooms consisting twin and double with separate shower room ). Staff very polite but reception was often unmanned and we had to wait a while a few times before a member of staff appeared. Breakfast very good. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would book again at this hotel |

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 29 Jun 2008 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: Following quite a busy year already myself and the wife deceided to head north for a weekend away. When we arrived we were welcomed by the young chap on the desk and told everything we needed to know. As well as recommended the new theatre and retail park for things to do. Our room (115) was lovely, very spacious and decorated very tastefully. When we checked in we also received a free wine each voucher when eating in the restaurant, which we deceided to do on the Saturday night. Given that the place was packed service was still very good, and the food even better. All in all We would most definately be back as soon as the kids are on holidays. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 6 Mar 2008 | A guest said the following about Waterside Hotel: My husband, mother-in-law and myself had an overnight stay in the Waterside and it was great. The rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and lovely bedlinen. Slightly antiquated headboard and furniture, but all matched and again was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was modern, spotless and the shower excellent. Complimentary toiletries were of good quality. Squeaky floorboards could do with a nail or two!All staff were cheery and friendly with a very relaxed atmosphere. We would highly recommend the high tea, £9.45 for a good sized main course (great selection) and a cake stand of cakes (very olde worlde!) to finish washed down with tea or coffee. The breakfast again was of very high quality, cold buffet along with a selection of highland grill, kippers, porrage, etc. There was not a drop of grease on the plates of the highland grill. I almost didn't feel guilty about spoiling my diet!!!!!Very handy for shopping or Eden Court, both only 5 minutes walk away. We will definately return...... |
