The Kenmore Hotel in Kenmore by Aberfeldy, lies on the banks of the River Tay. This uniquely styled countryside hotel is famous for its warmth, charm and Highland hospitality. The Kenmore Hotel is Scotlands's oldest inn and was established on the 3rd of November 1572. The conservation village of Kenmore was built around the hotel from 1760. Views from and around the hotel are spellbinding. On one side there is the River Tay and on the other a panoramic view across Loch Tay and the mountains beyond.
The Poets Bar in the Kenmore Hotel is named as such because in 1789 the famous Scots poet Robert Burns graced this bar with his presence. He was so struck by this area, that he composed a poem sitting on the bridge over the Tay. He wrote the poem in pencil on the chimneybreast of the fireplace in the Poet's bar. The poem is still there to this day.
After spending a wonderful day exploring this stunningly beautiful part of Scotland, it is time to make your way to one of the hotels 40 individually furnished bedrooms. The moment you slip between the cotton sheets and your head sinks into the pillow, we guarantee you will be engulfed by a deep and refreshing sleep.
At the Restaurants you'll enjoy the very best in Scottish cuisine in peaceful, sun-lit surroundings. The Garden's outdoor patio offers great views of the Tay, and is the perfect spot to while away those long summer evenings.
