The Kenmore Hotel in Kenmore by Aberfeldy, lies on the banks of the River Tay and is famous for its warmth, charm and Highland hospitality. The Kenmore Hotel is Scotlands' oldest inn and was established on the 3rd of November 1572. The conservation village of Kenmore was built around the hotel from 1760.
The Poets Bar in the Kenmore Hotel is named as such because in 1789 the famous Scots poet Robert Burns graced this bar with his presence. He was so struck by this area, that he composed a poem sitting on the bridge over the Tay. He wrote the poem in pencil on the chimney breast of the fireplace in the Kenmore Hotel's Poet's bar where it is to this day

The Kenmore Hotel has 40 bedrooms, all of which offer satellite TV, large bathrooms, a reading or writing desk and the standard tea and coffee making facilities. There are another thirteen bedrooms available in the lodge that is situated across the square, adjoining the Castle gates, approx 30 metres from the main hotel.
The Kenmore Hotel also has 2 executive suites. The most popular suite is the Veranda Room, which offers guests a large veranda that overlooks the River Tay and a luxurious bathroom with a Jacuzzi.
Please note that double rooms are limited and are on request only. There are no family rooms.
The Kenmore Hotels' Taymouth restaurant is a conservatory style restaurant that looks out over the tranquil River Tay. The restaurant offers an informal but quality style dining. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner are all served in the Taymouth restaurant and it is open all day.
The second restaurant at the Kenmore Hotel is the River View, which is used for receptions, functions and weddings.

This bar is traditional highland bar with roaring log fires and big comfy chairs and wide selections of Scottish beers and whiskies.
The second bar is the Boars Head that was completed in May 2000 and has a warm cosy Highland atmosphere, with a large veranda running its full length onto a patio overlooking the tranquil River Tay just where it leaves the mouth of Loch Tay. There is also a snooker table in this bar.

The Kenmore Hotel is situated in the heart of the Scottish Highlands, deep within Rob Roy and Campbell country, which makes this hotel an ideal base for touring. There are many attractions within this area. Some of the attractions nearby are a choice of 4 whisky distilleries including the famous Dewar's World of Whisky, Taymouth Castle, Blair Castle and the Rob Roy & Trossachs visitors centre in nearby Callander.
Additionally the area is rich with outdoor pursuits including golf, fishing, water sports, walking and cycling.

From Edinburgh (90 min), take the M90 to Perth, A9 to Ballinluig, then A827 to Aberfeldy and Kenmore.
From Oban (90 min) and Fort William (90 min): take the A85/A82 from Fort William, to Crianlarich, then A85 to Killin, then the A827 to Kenmore
From Inverness (90 min): South on the A9 until Ballinluig, A827 to Aberfeldy and Kenmore
