The Lifehouse Spa & Hotel in Thorpe le Soken is an exciting, contemporary health spa, offering an exclusive award-winning spa experience within an unconventional and relaxing environment tailor-made for every guest. This luxury hotel in Essex is less than an hour and twenty minutes by train from London and ten minute's drive from the popular beach resort of Frinton-on-sea. The design of Lifehouse Spa & Hotel is modern, simple and restrained. The buildings form a series of courtyards creating outside ‘rooms’ linking the interior to the less formal existing gardens.
The 4-star spa hotel boasts wonderful views from inside the building across the 12 acres of English Heritage gardens. This is a unique haven of peace and tranquillity and one, which we hope you, will enjoy.

The Lifehouse Hotel & Spa has 89 en suite guest rooms - all with wonderful views of the gardens or courtyard - 35 treatment rooms, plus a gym, outdoor fitness circuit, yoga / Pilates studio, swimming pool, thermal spa area, relaxation areas, 15 manicure and pedicure stations, makeup bays, a hairdressing salon and a spa boutique.

Dining in the relaxing and inspired surroundings of ‘The Restaurant at Lifehouse’ is the perfect way to break up your busy day or make an evening of it in the vibrant surroundings with superb cuisine created by the Head Chef using fresh local ingredients. On the first floor, the Lifehouse Spa & Hotel also has the Spa Cafe Bar serving juices, smoothies and light bites throughout the day.

The Lifehouse Spa & Hotel offers its guest the perfect haven for relaxation therefore children under the age of 16 years are not permitted.

Purpose-built for tranquillity every one of the 89 bedrooms at the Lifehouse Hotel is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style with enchanting views over the English Heritage gardens, the lakes or the surrounding countryside.

There are three categories of rooms to choose from at Lifehouse

CONTEMPORARY ROOMS
Contemporary rooms include a stylish bathroom with a large walk-in shower, luxury toiletries, LCD TV, telephone, hairdryer, safe, complimentary WiFi, tea/coffee making facilities, bottled water, a feature desk with large illuminated makeup area plus storage drawers and clothes hanging space. Each room has a Juliet balcony with full-height windows. Views are either out across the gardens, surrounding landscape or courtyard.

GARDEN ROOMS
Garden rooms include the same great amenities as contemporary rooms with the addition of being located on the ground floor. The Garden Rooms have full-length glazed doors with direct access to your outside patio and the historic gardens - perfect for relaxing in the fresh air.

SIGNATURE ROOMS
Signature rooms are the largest room and include luxury beds and an en suite bathroom with a shower and luxury toiletries. (Combination shower and bath available on request). Facilities include LCD TV, DVD player, iPod docking station, complimentary WiFi, upgraded hospitality tray including cereals bars and hot chocolate, personal safe, two comfortable chairs, and a small occasional table. Each room has full-height windows with views across the gardens or surrounding landscape.

The Lifehouse Spa & Hotel also have 4 rooms suitable for guests with disabilities. These include specially designed clothes hanging spaces. Please inform us at the time of booking of your needs and we will be happy to help.

Bar & Restaurant

The Restaurant at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel is a place you can enjoy with friends or relax alone. When you dine at the restaurant you’ll soon see that the main focus is on giving you a flavoursome and memorable food experience, underpinned by a healthy approach. Taste, balance and nutrition are at the forefront of the thinking.

Breakfast is without a doubt the most important meal of the day. Start off with a good breakfast, get your metabolism going and you can have energy for the rest of the day. As we know only too well that different people have very different tastes in the morning so a good range of choices is provided.
Breakfast is served from 7.00am to 9.30am midweek and 7.30am to 10.30am on weekends and Bank Holidays.

Delicious meals, tasty starters and wonderful desserts are all on offer at The Restaurant at Lifehouse. With so much excellent local produce we are pleased to showcase fresh fish, meats and vegetable dishes on our lunch and dinner menus. Enjoy fine dining in a relaxed and informal setting with good service and a great wine list.

The Bar at Lifehouse
The bar is the perfect venue to relax between treatments, enjoy a morning coffee or treat yourself to a delicious afternoon tea. With a well-stocked wine list, bottles of beers and local ciders as well as small groups of comfortable chairs this is everyone's favourite hangout. With comfortable seats, newspapers and a very casual atmosphere this is the ideal spot to meet up before that refreshing morning walk or before dining in the restaurant.
Just outside the Bar, there is a patio area - a virtual sun trap, even in Spring and Autumn. With chairs and tables and a pleasant view across our prairie-style pebble gardens, this part of Lifehouse is a real favourite with guests.
Please note - the Lifehouse Bar closes at 23:00 every night

The pool at Lifehouse
Make the spacious and modern swimming pool at Lifehouse Spa part of your everyday routine. Whether you prefer an invigorating early morning dip, a leisurely afternoon swim or a refreshing plunge after a sauna or steam room session - the spa pool is perfect for all of these.

The pool at Lifehouse is surrounded by windows - making you feel close to nature on beautiful days and safely sheltered when winter comes.

With calming music playing as you swim or socialise, the 18½ metre pool is a place where all your troubles and stresses fall away - through exercise, relaxation or the simple enjoyment of being in such calming surroundings.

Directions to the Lifehouse Spa & Hotels in Thorpe Le Soken

Travelling to Lifehouse by Car:
From London and the M25, take the A12 signed Chelmsford and Colchester, pass the exits to Colchester West and Colchester Central, then join the A120 signposted Harwich and Clacton. From the Midlands and North, follow the A14 (signposted Felixstowe/Harwich) until you are south of Ipswich.

Join the A12 signposted in London then take the A120 (Harwich). From the A120 join the A133 for Clacton, Weeley, Frinton, Walton, St Osyth & Brightlingsea and then take the B1033 signposted to Weeley, Frinton & Walton. Once you reach the village of Thorpe-le-Soken, follow the brown signs for Lifehouse Spa Resort.

Travelling to Lifehouse by Rail:
Regular trains run from London Liverpool Street and Stratford to Thorpe-le-Soken. The average journey time from London is 1 hour 20 minutes. For timetable information log on to: www.greateranglia.co.uk

Complimentary slippers and free use of a robe are provided for you to use during your stay so that you are entirely comfortable. It is your choice whether to dress for breakfast or lunch or stay in your robe, but the hotel does ask you to dress smart casual for dinner.

All bedrooms have free Wi-Fi access to make keeping in touch easier.

Hen and Stag parties, fancy dress and table decorations are not permitted.

Groups of 8 or more require pre-payment, no cancellations are permitted 30 days prior to arrival. Max group size on Saturday nights is 8 people. A group contract will be issued and your reservation will only go ahead once this agreement is signed and returned. Please note we can only offer tables for 6 unless pre-agreed directly with the hotel.

Lifehouse is set in 130 acres of grounds including 12 acres of listed gardens, created by the chatelaine of Thorpe Hall, Lady Byng, almost 100 years ago and now being lovingly restored to their former glory by the hotel's Head Gardener and his team.

The Gardens at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel are a true treasure and something which guests never forget. A magical mix of pools, lakes, rock gardens, wild grass areas, rose gardens, sunken gardens, a summer house and lots of places to sit and relax. If there was ever a natural spa in which to relax and revive the senses then (provided the sun is out!) this is it.

Thorpe Green Equestrian Centre is also just a 10-minute drive away.
