The Belleisle Hotel in Alloway just outside the coastal town of Ayr is a charming country house. Built in 1829 and set in the stunning gardens and surroundings of Belleisle Park, adjacent to the highly regarded Belleisle Golf Course, with its deer park, aviary and duck pond. This area is also known as golf country as some of the most famous open championship courses in the game are on your doorstep for example - Royal Troon, Turnberry and first to hold the Open, Prestwick

The Belleisle Hotel offers guests a choice of 14 ensuite bedrooms each with a view of the two golf courses in the Belleisle estates. The Belleisle's rooms are roomy, with natural light and comfortable. Each room has also been tastefully decorated in keeping with the original features of the house and features a colour TV, direct dial phone, hairdryer and toiletries, trouser press, tea/coffee maker, desk and Internet access.

The Executive Chef has an excellent reputation locally for her traditional yet creative edge on Scottish cuisine.
The Doon Coffee Shop is open daily, serving bar snacks and light bites with a mouthwatering selection of fresh baking.

the Shanter Bar offers a traditional Scottish pub atmosphere, offering bar meals and a selection of beers, wines and spirits. This is a popular venue with golfers and local residents.

The location of the Belleisle Hotel means that it is a great base for touring the famous Burns country. Alloway is the birthplace of Scotland's famous poet Robert Burns. His house is open to the public as part of the Robert Burns National Heritage Park where visitors can also visit landmark sites from his poems for example the Brig-a-Doon, Auld Kirk, The Tam O'Shanter experience or the Burns monument and statue house. Another place of interest to visit around this area is the harbour town of Girvan with its lovely beaches and great views of Ailsa Craig. Why not take a boat trip around it to view the bird life or visit the dramatic Culzean Castle with its beautiful gardens.

 

From Glasgow - Take the A77 Heading to Stranraer. When you reach the first roundabout near Prestwick, keep in the left hand lane and continue heading for Stranraer. Go straight through the next three roundabouts staying on the A77. After the last roundabout take the second junction on the right signposted Alloway,Doonfoot (Doonholm Road). At the end of the road turn left then sharp right onto Greenfield Avenue. At the end of Greenfield Avenue, turn right onto Doonfoot Road. Belleisle House Hotel is first on the right, follow the driveway and take the right fork to the hotel.
