I can find no fault at all with the accommodation, staff and service at the Angus Hotel. In addition the food was lovely and the staff all very friendly and helpful. My only adverse comment would be relating to the "Neil Diamond Tribute". The entertainer did 4 songs as Neil Diamond (at nearly midnight), spent more time on Tom Jones and other songs and was not the greatest.

We had a very pleasant stay in this well-appointed 3star hotel. It is clearly popular for its Saturday "tribute" nights though our excellent value package started on the Sunday. Were given a room upgrade which was spacious and comfortable. Recently refurbished perhaps? The hotel was able to accommodate my request for our two rooms to be close together though the lift elsewhere in the hotel did not provide access to these two upgraded rooms.It was not a problem for us but it could be for guests who have difficulty with stairs. I expect that if that were the case then such guests would discuss their needs with the staff at reception. The rooms faced on to the town centre (an attractive triangular shape with a feature garden and a well in the middle).Good choice on the table d'hote menu and the food was tasty and well-presented. Friendly, helpful staff.I also enjoyed a swim before breakfast. We would be happy to return there. Thanks for helping me with my queries before booking. I have booked breaks with Classic Britain before and shall do so again.

Room allocated on arrival was small and basic, requested room as per your website "i.e. best available" was told there were no other rooms available. Informed receptionist was not happy with room allocated eventually, 2 hours later, we reallocated a standard room which was larger and better equipped. The hotel was still being refurbished and we were never informed of this. We arrived for check-in at 2pm, hungry after our journey however they stopped serving food at 2pm! We were charged an extra £10 a head for the privilege of sitting in the ballroom for the 'entertainment' supposedly big band, it was one poor guy who was booed after the first joke he told. There was nowhere else for us to have our dinner so I think the hotel considering the state of the place were totally out of order with the extra cost. The food was awful! All in all we would not ever go back!

The major concern at this hotel was a serious outbreak of sickness & diahorrea which badly affected one member of our party and at least 7 other guests in the hotel. All the illnesses started within one hour of one another. This was reported to reception but we are not aware of any action that was taken.

Have just came back from the Tom Jones Tribute night where me and my 3 friends stayed the Saturday and Sunday night and all of us had a Fantastic time the Tribute night was excellent and we plan to book another Thanks to all the staff at the hotel everyone was lovely and the service was the best one thing I was dissappointed on was the leisure club I feel that it needs a face lift to keep in line with the rest of the hotel when we were there the Jacuzzi was not working properly and the pool has a few dirty looking tiles that had broken also the hand rails going into the pool were a bit shakey and didn't give you much confidence when entering and exiting the pool. This however would not stop us going back as I'm sure the hotel will get round to refurbishing it. All in All I would recommend staying here.

The room had a damp musty smell which stayed for the whole two days despite having the windows open. The shower was very difficult to control the temperature. These matters were reported to the reception staff when we paid our account.

The updated rooms were very classy. Well appointed and finished. The waiting staff were excellent as were the reception staff. Pool and leiure areas were well maintained. Only have a couple of small recommendations - the cheap toilet rolls are a false economy and spoil the classy bathrooms, and the entertainment wasn't to my taste at all - seemed to be geared towads the elderly bus parties. However, I hadn't expected any entertainment so I shouldn't complain! Had a great stay and would recommend the hotel readily.

This was a very pleasant stay at this hotel. I just have 2 comments about our room. I felt that as we were facing the street a net curtain on the window would have been better than having to close the main curtain or lower the heavy blind for privacy, especially as the weather was warm and we had our windows open all the time. Secondly, the water in the cistern ran non-stop into the toilet bowl which we reported to the reception desk but I don't know if it was looked at as it continued the whole weekend.

Upgrade gave us a newly refurbished clean and very comfortable room. Breakfast and dinner service consistantly pleasant and prompt; giving us fresh milk for our room for making tea/ coffee- done easily. The standard of food was excellent, beautifully presented and quantity just right. Entertainment was available each night of our 3 night stay- although we didn't see it spoke to another family there, from granparent to teenage grandchild enjoyed it. Don't worry about coach parties as our experience was of charming elderly groups who we greeted briefly morning and evening in passing- their allocated tables and service were separate fom ours and staff informed us of their timetable should we wish to avoid "busy" times. We had a lovely break here. Travelling to nearby sights was easy and when returning in the evening we had plenty of hot water for a shower before dinner.
