Glasgow oozes with energy and style from the heart of the city centre, around the cultural Merchant City area to the trendy West End. All around the River Clyde has been transformed and recently a new bridge nicknamed the “squinty bridge” provides another welcome vehicular access to the south side of the city.
The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum attracts loads of visitors daily due to its captivating exhibitions. It is home to Salvador Dali’s Christ of St John of the Cross. It is situated in the city’s famous Kelvingrove Park and is directly opposite the fascinating Transport Museum.
In time the Transport Museum will be replaced with a Riverside Museum where the River Clyde meets the River Kelvin at Glasgow Harbour. Designers are working on what promises to be a fascinating exhibit of transport in Glasgow.
Due to its international status everything keeps evolving for the better in Glasgow. Glasgow is proud of its architectural heritage and throughout the city the design of Charles Rennie Mackintosh can be witnessed and enjoyed. Glasgow School of Art was designed by Mackintosh and The Lighthouse in the city centre is Scotland’s centre for architecture and design.
Shoppers flock to the city centre and its outskirts due to its unrivalled designer, exclusive and high street brands. Sauchiehall Street, Argyll Street and St Enoch’s Square are favourites for high street brand shoppers.
