BEDROOMS _ 3 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 1 / 10 STAYED _ 18 Jul 2010 | B Kerr said the following about Beverley Arms Hotel: The hotel has a great location but is tired and in need of renvation. The carpet in the main resturant was sticky and could have done with a clean. Aequest was made by myself for a prawn cocktail without teh advertised apple, this was duly refused as the mix had already been done, I setled for toast and pate, very little toast was received. The room was OK but the television had very poor reception. |

Staf great. |

BEDROOMS _ 1 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 6 Nov 2009 | Doreen Rose said the following about Beverley Arms Hotel: On arrival there was no booking for us and had to wait until evening while rooms were moved about, extremely worrying as my husband has MS.Our allocated rooms ended up 37 steps.!The hotel was so cold we had to ask for heaters and we had to wear coats in our rooms until they arrived, 1 room had no pressure in hot tap.Room 219's carpet was in dire need of replacement. On plus side must be the hardest working manager ever, wonderful.Bedding was good and so was food, Hotel in great spot and has lots of character.Waitresses very good. In response, Beverley Arms Hotel said the following: Thank you for your review. I apologise for the confusion with your booking when you arrived and the time that it took to rectify. With regards to your comments about the bedrooms since you stayed with us we have begun an extensive refurbishment programme on our bedrooms. Currently work has been completed on bathrooms and painting in the bedrooms. We are also scheduled to have new carpets in all of our bedrooms, they have already been ordered and we are expecting delivery of these in the next 2 weeks. I hope that you will give our hotel another try once the work has been completed |

BEDROOMS _ 4 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 26 Jun 2009 | Alan Lea said the following about Beverley Arms Hotel: Hotel in excellent location, however the decor is very shabby and very outdated, the curtains were torn and the lace curtain was torn and discoloured. I expected much more for the cost of the room. If I was a foreign tourist I would have been even more dismayed. I have stayed in many hotels and I'm afaraid to say that this was one of the worst. In response, Beverley Arms Hotel said the following: Thank you for your review. Since you stayed with us we have begun an extensive refurbishment programme on our bedrooms. Currently we have had sinks and showers replaced in the bathrooms and the majority of our rooms painted. We have also had a number of the curtains and lace curtains replaced. We are also expecting delivery of new carpets for the bedrooms within the next 2 weeks |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Feb 2009 | A guest said the following about Beverley Arms Hotel: From arrival at the Reception, to leaving the next day after a lovely breakfast we were completely happy with the service and standard of accommodation.
Had a quiet room at the back of the hotel (new part) where most of the rooms seem to be rather than in the Georgian part.
Room very warm, we turned heating off. Beds, comfy with clean white bedding. The carpet in the room & throughout hotel looked new.
They provide a good choice of breakfasts. The vegetarian breakfast has been thought about, rather than as an afterthought - it was excellent. Breakfast in bed was an option.
The bar seemed to be open all the time and there were a lot of cosy places to sit and relax in the Georgian building.
Free parking available which was good in a town with meters everywhere.

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 14 Dec 2008 | A guest said the following about Beverley Arms Hotel: We are four friends who have been staying at the Beverely Arms Hotel at this time of year to spend time together, and visit the Victorian Market. We have done this for the past 6/7 years.
I have to say thru the years it had deteriorated so much so, we thought this would be our last year.
However, what a turnaround!
The place felt different.
The bedrooms ARE a little jaded, but warm. The beds clean and comfortable ( fresh white bedding)
Excellent food served by efficient friendly staff.
We think this must have been due to the new Manager Mark Swift
We noticed he was often in attendance, and aware of what was going on, turning his hand to whatever was needed.
It seemed as tho the staff had a leader!
Well done, we have booked again for next year!

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 22 Apr 2008 | A guest said the following about Beverley Arms Hotel: I stayed at the Beverly as part of a wedding, and payed £75 for a double including full English breakfast.
As previous reviewers have pointed out some of the room fittings were a bit old, but what impressed me was how clean the room was. It felt very Engish and cosy, not run-down.
The staff was amazing from the word go, and the barman who defused row started by a drunk customer on the (late) evening of the reception deserves a special mention.
The food was definately above average (though I did miss baked beans with my posh full cooked breakfast) and overall I think the place was very good value for money and I'm glad I wasn't scared off by the reviews.
