BEDROOMS _ 6 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 13 Jul 2010 | A Jackson said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: Due probably to the age of the hotel, nearly all the floor boards creaked or were loose in our room, and somke sort of generator ran all night and was audible from our room especially when all was still and quiet through the night, Apart from that everything else was more than satisfactory and would come back again. |

BEDROOMS _ 6 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 28 Aug 2009 | DAVID WHITE said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: We had a 3 night break at the august bank holiday weekend. The food was excellent and the staff were great. The 4 poster bed made my wife happy, personally it would be better with a decent mattress. (It was a bit on the thin side). Had a really relaxing break and put on lbs. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 16 Aug 2009 | A guest said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: Overall this represented a good value for money break. Nice dining room with excellent choice of food, well presented, quickly and efficiently served by polite and friendly waiting staff. Large bright bedroom although TV a bit small for size of room. Bathroom fine but wash-hand basin very small and a shelf for toiletries, etc. would have been an advantage. Lounge bar lacked atmosphere - the poorly stocked bar and large screen TV on the wall did not make it a welcoming place for a relaxing after-dinner drink. The exterior frontage could do with a face-lift and the plants in the hanging baskets could do with a drink! Very good location for touring the area. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 14 Aug 2009 | A guest said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: Apart from the floors being a bit creaky and the plumbing a bit noisier than usual the hotel was very good value for money. The two dining room staff Kamil and Goshia were very welcoming, courteous and very efficient in delivering the service in this area. I believe Kamil is studying Hotel and hospitality in Poland. If he continues to give the service we received he will go a long way in his chosen career.
Our time spent in the dining room contributed to our enjoyable stay at this hotel. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 14 Aug 2009 | john bell said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: My wife and I stayed two nights at Huntly Arms last weekend.
It is a good base for touring the surrounding areas of interest. Not much in Aboyne itself but close enough to other attractions. The food and service was excellent, would give it a 10/10. Great choice and friendly waiting staff. Only improvement would be if staff were possibly given name badges.
The accomodation was fine, room was on the smallish size (rm 213) but as we were only two nights, not a major drawback. Bearing that in mind, I would rate the room 7/10.
I would stay again but would possibly request a twin room.
Overall, a great wee break which I have already recommended to friends and family.

BEDROOMS _ 0 / 10 SERVICE _ 0 / 10 FOOD _ 0 / 10 STAYED _ 10 Aug 2009 | W Wishart said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: Impossible to review the hotel as we received a phone call at 7.45 pm, the evening before we were due to arrive, informing us the hotel was unable to accommodate us owing to a fire 'the other day'. We were disgusted with the extremely short notice, as we were packed ready to leave first thing in the morning. The receptionist suggested we stay at a local B & B and have all our meals in the hotel which we felt was totally unacceptable! The 2 alternative hotels offered were not suitable, one was not in the area we wished to visit and the second had no shower in the room available! It was just a total disaster regarding service and customer care. We eventually had to find alternative accommodation ourselves on the Monday morning. |

BEDROOMS _ 2 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 24 Jul 2009 | barry mullins said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: My stay at the Huntly Arms was a pleasent one however the main thing that stood out about the hotel was the dingy rooms. On arrival, after finding our first room not up to standard I asked to be moved. The staff were great and I was offered either of the two other rooms which were available. Both of these rooms were also not up to a high standard. They smelled badly of damp/must and werent very clean. The rooms clearly need serious money spent on upgrading them. On the other hand the staff were very helpful and the food was excellent. |

BEDROOMS _ 2 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 19 Jul 2009 | A guest said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: We had been here before and enjoyed the break then as hotel is in a good location for a quiet time. Room this time had a horrible smell, no fan in bathroom, shaver charging point not working. A big room (good) with one tiny light in the middle. Dull and depressing. Apart from waiting staff and one male member of reception staff the rest were unhelpful and disinterested to put it politely.
Food was fine. Suspect chef did well while working to a tight budget.
We will not go back which is a pity because area is good and the building and gardens could be charming.
Cheap but would rather not go on holiday if this is the standard. In response, Huntly Arms Hotel said the following: Thank you for posting your comments, it is most unfortunate that you did not choose to altert a member of the Management Team to your obvious dissatisfaction with both the service and standards recieved at the Hotel. Here at the Huntly Arms we pride ourselves in excellent customer service and it is very sad to hear that you felt that the team were disinterested because this certainly is no way the culture of the hotel team.
Perhaps if you chose to put your name to the above comments I could call and discuss the aspects of dissatisfaction you found. Our customers are very important to us and it saddens me that your experience of the hotel was such that you will not return.
Please call the hotel direct if you wish to discuss these points further. Thank you once again for your comments all feedback is important both positive and negative to allow us to continue to offer excellent customer service. |

BEDROOMS _ 4 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 16 Jul 2009 | George Paterson said the following about Huntly Arms Hotel: Excellent value for money. Some minor problems: eg Fire alarm sounded in error at least once each day during our 4 night stay. TV in room had problems with BBC 1 & 2.No towel rails in shower room. Food of acceptable standard with reasonable choice. Service in dining room prompt and food came quickly. Drinks reasonably priced. Bedroom had plenty of storage space but a table and second chair wwould have been better than oversized ch. of drwrs |

the staff were excellent helpful and really friendly. would recommend and return. great deal |

Food was excellent for the price. The only slight problem was that there was only one vegetarian option, which was very nice but the exact same dish was the only one on offer the second night of our stay. This has happened before when staying at this hotel. Having said that, the chef came up with an excellent dish when this was pointed out and the staff, as always were very accommodating and pleasant. |
