BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 4 / 10 STAYED _ 19 Feb 2010 | Deborah Strang said the following about Fishers Hotel: The newly refurbished room had good decor and furnishings, however the bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom , although clean, was small with only 1 slim shelf for toilitries, we had to use the floor. The service at reception was efficient, however the service during breakfast was extremely slow. On the first morning we waited 1hr then gave up and left. The evening food was disppointing and I would rather have ate out. The hotel overall was ok but I wouldnt stay DBB again. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 9 / 10 STAYED _ 7 Dec 2009 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: The staff at the Fishers could not have been more helpful. The rooms that we requested were excellent although the shower in the double room was a little on the tight side. The food was excellent with a good choice for all. For the elderly ladies with us the location in the centre of town was really good as it alloed them a degree of independence. We would certainly return to this hotel. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 7 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Nov 2009 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: stay was enjoyable however there was a mix up at the hotel when we arrived. I had booked 2 double rooms under 1 reference and then booked another double room under a different reference. One double room booking was cancelled by our party but which should have left 12 double rooms however when we arrived there was only 1 doouble room and a single room. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Nov 2009 | anne walsh said the following about Fishers Hotel: The meal on the Friday, was very poor, and dining room was pretty cold.
Hot water was too cold to have a bath. Other than that the stay were pleasant, reception staff were lovely and room was nice and clean. Just disappointed in general with the food and entertainment on Saturday evening. The band was awful, and floor remained empty every time the band played. Sorry wouldn't book again. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 10 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 6 Nov 2009 | Jacqueline Lee said the following about Fishers Hotel: We were delighted with our stay at Fishers Hotel. The only reason our score for the bedroom is 9, and not a 10, is to say that a small table placed between the two chairs would have been nice, but this is only a small criticism. The staff were very courteous. We thought the food was excellent and certainly very good value for what we paid. We will certainly return to this hotel and also recommend to family and friends. Thankyou to all. |

BEDROOMS _ 2 / 10 SERVICE _ 1 / 10 FOOD _ 1 / 10 STAYED _ 13 Aug 2009 | John Burnett said the following about Fishers Hotel: We stayed 2 nights at the hotel last week with Scottish relatives and were very disappointed. The rooms were adequate and clean, however, we found the hotel very short staffed and the service very poor. In fact, we were treated rudely when we requested coffee be served in the bar after dinner. We never succeeded in getting a drink with our meal the first night as the barman had no interest in serving us despite several requests. Rooms not turned until after 3.30pm, and dirty bed linen piled in the hallways throughout for a whole day. Food was fair but nto as expected in a tourist hotel in beautiful Pitlochry. The dining room where we had meals was barren & dull & definitely needs updating to survive. We met several people from the 3 bus tours while there, and they too, were unhappy with the service & the food. The waitress from India who worked the dining room was the only pleasant & courteous member of staff. Beautiful brochures advertising "Celebrate Homecoming Scotland 2009" would not apply to or include a stay at the Fishers Hotel. I will not recommend your hotel to friends in the USA. |

BEDROOMS _ 10 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 31 Jul 2009 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: I had a great time at the Fishers Hotel from 31/7/09 to 2/8/09. Only thing I would comment on is the dress sense of the dining room staff. They were all very polite but if they all dressed in the same e.g.black trousers/skirt and a white shirt then it would give out more of a smarter appearance. Also I felt that the large dining roonm lacked character. The quality of food was just fine but for what we paid I wasn't expecting anything very special. The big plus for me was the bedroom. It was very tastefully decorated and we were on the 2nd floor overlooking the gardens. Perfect location within the hotel. |

BEDROOMS _ 8 / 10 SERVICE _ 3 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 27 Jul 2009 | R Fitzpatrick said the following about Fishers Hotel: On arriving at the hotel we were very disappointed at the lack of parking facilities. A suggestion from the reception staff was to park in the local co-op supermarket. This was not only round a side street but was also on a hill and carrying lugguage this distance was not acceptable.
Then when checking in at 3 O'Clock as stated on confirmation we were told to come back at 4 O'Clock as the rooms were not ready. Returning at 4 O'Clock we were again told that the rooms still were not ready and advised to sit in the lounge and someone would be with us shortly. Thirty minutes later and still no staff member approached us, we then confronted the reception staff and then at 4.45 we were given our room. The room was very nice and we were both very impressed by this.
The evening meals were very bland, and when we got talking to a staff member we were told that because of the volume of people for evening dinner the meals were all plated waiting for guests prior to them coming.
This was acctualy very surprising as the breakfast was fantastic.
The dinning staff were all very pleasant with the exception of one English waiter who was very rude and spoke openly about guests in the dinning hall.
The waiter on question was a small bauld headed male. This should be addresed. |

BEDROOMS _ 2 / 10 SERVICE _ 2 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 22 Jul 2009 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: thought i'd arrived at fawlty towers, everything in the room was on a slope, wardrobes and chest of drawers were propped up, wallpaper peeling of walls. Had to queue for breakfast as there were not enough tables, then when we finally got served we were surrounded by loads of uncleared dirty tables, there were no clean cups and they were clearly understaffed. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 10 / 10 STAYED _ 8 Jul 2008 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: Enjoyable stay in a nice hotel with excellent meal service (both evening and breakfast), with freshly made food and plenty for everyone. The staff were excellent and very friendly and had time to stop and chat with you. The Housekeeper's were always friendly and I stopped once or twice to exchange pleasantries. The single room had a comfy bed, and clean towels with the window overlooking the high-street in the village and fantastic views of the hills. The drinks were rather expensive, but then you are on your holidays and have to treat yourself now and then, with the bar staff being very warm and welcoming. We did not get to meet the chef's who served the meals both morning and evening, but we did leave a tip for the staff at the hotel reception. |

BEDROOMS _ 9 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 22 Jun 2008 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: Spent a weekend break here. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Found it to be excellent value for money. Food was excellent, room clean, fluffy towels, nice clean bedding, decent shower, everything as you'd expect. Live entertainment provided in adjoining lounge. No complaints with this hotel. They are obviously busy refurbishing the hotel - the corridors to the bedrooms still to be done but all this takes time and money. will definitely go back |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 18 Jun 2008 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: the hotel was very easy to get to, especially if travelling by train. It is located in the very heart of Pitlochry so nothing was too far away. The staff at reception were friendly, The town itself is quiet and relaxing, the Fishers Hotel having the liviliest of all the bars around. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 8 / 10 STAYED _ 24 Apr 2008 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: Having read the reviews prior to arriving, we were extremely sceptical, but decided to go and make the most of our night away. On arrival, the hotel does have scaffolding, however surely this suggests work, and should not be a criticism! We recently stayed in a 5*hotel in Edinburgh, which too had building works going on....get over it now!We were checked into our room, which on entry was named "Caledonian Room". This room was large and spacious, and extremely clean. The decor could do with an upgrade, and it is apparent that the hotel are working towards this, as our bathroom was a brand new suite - delightful! Further to this, the room has a full sized fridge (which is not stocked with extortionate hotel drinks) allowing you to buy some wine/juice and have this in here. One draw back was the heating in the room. It is run on one small heater, which does not heat the whole room, so take your thermals!breakfast the following morning was nice, a self service to the continental with staff bringing out the full Scottish. All staff from arrival to finish were pleasant and friendly.I would recommend this hotel for a weekend break, ok it's not the Ritz, but a pleasant little hotel striving to modernise in a beautiful part of Scotland In response, Fishers Hotel said the following: Thank you for your comments on room 122 The Caledonian Room. I note the point ref the heater and this will be rectified. I was pleased that you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again once all the work is finished |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 8 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 6 Apr 2008 | A guest said the following about Fishers Hotel: the hotel was quite satisfactory. The bedroom, bathroom and bed linen were spotless, and the bed comfortable. Food not Cordon Bleu, but more than adequate. Saw no threadbare carpets likely to trip you up. The hotel was still undergoing refurbishment, but this did not affect us at all. In response, Fishers Hotel said the following: Thank you indeed for your kind comments. We are looking forward to the completion of the refurbishment and I sincerely hope that you will return at some point in the future
