The bright 1930's style coffee lounge offers lovely views of Kyle of Lochalsh and Skye and the ever-changing weather provides a different outlook over the loch on an hourly basis.
The Restaurant serves local seafood and game set in a Victorian themed dining room. If you are looking for a slightly more casual meal, the bar is open from 6pm - 11pm weekdays and 6pm - 12am at weekends. The ambience in the bar is further enhanced at weekends with local musicians providing traditional folk music on Saturday evenings and a variety of local music on Friday evenings.

Breakfast is served from: 7:30 - 9:30 (mon-fri) 8am - 9:30am (sat-sun)
The Balmacara Hotel is in an ideal location for those wishing to breaks touring the Highlands and Islands as it only a few minutes from the bridge over to the sea to the Isle of Skye. Day trips can also be made to the outer islands of Lewis, Harris or Uist. The most photographed castle in Scotland - Eilean Donan Castle in Dornie - is also only within a short drive from the Balmacara Hotel. Another popular village to visit is the village of Plockton, which was used in the popular television series 'Hamish Macbeth'. Some scenes from the series were also filmed in the Balmacara Hotel.

The Balmacara Hotel is situated on the A87 between Dornie (Home of Eilean Donan Castle) and Kyle of Lochalsh. The Hotel is perfectly situated for an overnight stop for travellers heading to Skye and the islands.
Travelling time from various locations can depend on the season. During the summer, expect journeys to take longer. The following is a guide only.
