BEDROOMS _ 2 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 0 / 10 STAYED _ 5 Mar 2010 | Wilma Henderson said the following about Swallow Glasgow Hotel: Very disappointed with this hotel. It is very run down and the outside is very untidy and scruffy. The bedrooms require an upgrade. A coat of paint wouldn't go amiss. The linen was ok and this made the weekend bearable. We were DBB but the food was poor quality, even the breakfast was poorly cooked and presented.(the scambled eggs were served up in the saucepan!)The staff were friendly and helpful and the public areas inside were ok. Overall I certainly would not recommend this hotel and after booking through you I am disappointed that you class this as a three star. This is the first time we have not enjoyed a hotel booked through yourselves. |

BEDROOMS _ 5 / 10 SERVICE _ 5 / 10 FOOD _ 5 / 10 STAYED _ 5 Mar 2010 | A guest said the following about Swallow Glasgow Hotel: The rooms were clean and adequate. Having to pay for extra coffee milk tea etc was a bit annoying. How much would the hotel save by not providing top ups?
Not happy that guests were wearing rangers tops etc as it stated no football colours. The security at the gates when we returned from morning shopping and had left keys in reception was a bit inconvenient and unexpected!
The price of drink was very expensive!
Certainly would not recommend it as the area was awful and the exterior rather rundown ; planters from the summer with dead plants was an eyesore.Cigarettes ends around the entrance was disgusting. |

BEDROOMS _ 4 / 10 SERVICE _ 6 / 10 FOOD _ 2 / 10 STAYED _ 6 Nov 2009 | Mary Cochrane said the following about Swallow Glasgow Hotel: On arrival we faced a double booking and an attempt to charge us for this. However, it got sorted after about half an hour. Rooms were clean in need of a bit of tcl but acceptable for the price we paid. The staff were helpfull but the hotel organisation with regard to supplements and drinks charged at tables was a constant source of arguement. It would have helped if the supplements were signed for before the guests left the tables as proof of being consumed. Breakfast was very good but the evening meals were not up to standard however we did not leave humgry. |

Dear Ms Gillespie
Thank you for taking the time to review the Swallow Hotel. Re your comments about Classic Britain - at the time you made your booking a confirmation email was sent to both yourself and the hotel. The hotel unfortunately had not picked the email up from their system so therefore did not have your reservation. Procedures have now been put in place to ensure this does not happen again.
The hotel apologises sincerely about this and both the hotel and ourselves are glad that you enjoyed your stay.
Kind regards

BEDROOMS _ 3 / 10 SERVICE _ 4 / 10 FOOD _ 4 / 10 STAYED _ 15 May 2009 | A guest said the following about Swallow Glasgow Hotel: Unfortunately this must rate as the worst hotel i have booked through yourselves, everything about the bedroom was very basic from the tired looking furniture to a mattress that appeared to almost collapse in the middle, all of which had obviously seen better days. All the staff were polite but very laid back even when the guests were qeuing up for a table at breakfast, all food was well cooked and presented with the exception of our meal on Friday evening which very drab. Finally the leasure facilities, absolutely disgusting with mould growing all over the place, my wife advised that the ladies changing room and toilet facilities were so bad she couldn't relax for fear of catching some desease or other on reporting this to reception we were advised that the hotel had been up for sale for some time which may go some way to explaning the overall appearance of the place. I would respectfully suggest you remove this hotel from your list as i feel it gives the wrong impression of the hotels you promote. |

BEDROOMS _ 7 / 10 SERVICE _ 9 / 10 FOOD _ 7 / 10 STAYED _ 12 Nov 2007 | A guest said the following about Swallow Glasgow Hotel: I was amazed at the quality of the food, the comfort of the room and friendliness of the staff.
Dinner was 3 courses served in a pretty restaurant with very attentive staff. You have full choice of the 'normal' menu, with only a few more expensive dishes haveing an additional supplement of one or two pounds.
I asked to take up my dessert to my room, but the waiter insited on bringing it up for me! They really work hard at making you feel happy.
