Jennifer Jackson from East Kilbride, Glasgow said the following on 6 Apr 2012: Just back from an amazing 2 for 1 DBB at Buchanan Arms in Drymen with my fiancé and 2 year old son. ClassicBritain was much cheaper than going direct through the hotel. The food was extremely good value for money and the menu changed every day. The childrens menu was all fresh food (not processed). Our bedroom was very modern. We brought our own travel cot and they supplied a toddlers quilt. To top it off the pool was really warm. The only thing that could be improved is to make it clear who takes the payment...I didn't realise Buchanan Arms take the payment. Apart from that 10/10!! Can't wait to find our next bargain x |

What a superb choice, the room was generously spacious and spotlessly clean, the bed very comfy. We were not disturbed by noise from guests in adjacent rooms or on the corridors. We chose to eat in the bar rather than the restaurant as it was a little less formal and suited us for a midweek stay. The evening meal and breakfast were cooked and presented well. As for the staff - brilliant, they were all chatty, friendly and helpul. Would I stay here again? Without a doubt, don,t miss this one! |

I would just like this to be near the start of confirmation and bolder. Thank you. |
C.Jarvis from Alexandria said the following on 26 Apr 2011: Once again my husband and I have used Classic Britain for a short break. This time Crieff Hydro. Had a very enjoyable 2 days, dinner bed and breakfast. Hotel is fab.In a stunning location. Rooms are comfortable and very clean.Staff very helpful and pleasant. Food of a high standard. Excellent choice at breakfast.Plenty to see and do. Only slight drawback, there was a lot of families there with young children. It was Easter weekend after all.Swimming pool was very busy, would recommend paying extra to use the Victorian Spa. Much quieter and no children allowed.Would certainly recommend this Hotel.Well done Classic Britain on price. |
Michael J Wallace from Fife said the following on 24 Apr 2011: Just spent 2 nights half-board at the Golden Lion in Stirling.Very pleased with accommodation - bedroom and bathromm both very good although the view of city centre rooftops was less than inspiring. Food was excellently presented and very generous portions. Staff were all courteous and helpful. Will certainly use this hotel again especially now I know that parking is not the problem that I thought it might be. |
Mr Nisbet from Erskine said the following on 23 Apr 2011: We stayed @ Morar Hotel on 22nd April, 2011. It was a mistake. The hotel opened " for the season", the day before. Not one member of staff, knew what they were doing. The Bar Staff couldn't find the plug, to switch on the beer pumps. The fact that 2 dozen toilet rolls were waiting at the bottom of the stairs, to our room, was disconcerting ! The holder for the shower head was broken and someone had jammed something in, to keep it in place. Of course as soon as any water pressure was applied, it fell down onto the bath ! Luckily not injuring anyone. The cold water tap for the bath, could not be turned on, unless you were very muscular !!! The room had just been painted and smelt strongly of emulsion. A delivery of toilet rolls and shower gels etc, was made after our arrival - which was about 6pm !!! On going for dinner, the table we had been allocated, had been given away to someone else. We made our booking, on the premise of the Sample Menu as described on the Hotel's website, which bore no resemblance to the scant offerrings, provided on that night!! If the food is not the worse we have experienced in years, I would be very much surprised. On raising issues, with staff, we were simply advised, that "we would take a note of that " No attempts were made to rectify the problems highlighted. There is a lovely view from the restaurant, again another reason for going there, but then they strategically place outside tables and chairs in front of the large windows, so all you see are the backs of non patrons drinking and enjoying the view !!!! Perhaps most disconcerting, was, whilst still eating, staff started to spray glass cleaner, on the tables, thus ensuring our dining experience was complete. Then at breakfast, some 30minutes, before it was due to close, the same, was done again. We formed the opinion, we were just an inconvenience. We met the chef on departing, when he asked if the food was okay. We could not afford the amount of time, that would have been re |
Jacqueline Dorans from Irvine said the following on 17 Apr 2011: We booked for different hotel as special reat for our silver anniversay. Fort William, Inverness, Carnostie & Anstruther, first two hotels were lovely, wonderful experience, 3rd hotel was little more than a Travelodge, disappointing. The 4th hotel, Craws Nest was terrible, room small, unclean, dated, with paper thin walls. Had this been our firt hotel we would have been straight home again. Very suprized that a hotel as bad as this is on Classic Britain's books, think perhaps they need to relook at this. |
Mary Fenton from Glasgow said the following on 11 Apr 2011: Site is easy to navigate through and booking process 'to the point' - no fuss. Have used the site many times before and will keep returning as a satisfied customer |

Tommy MacLeod from Motherwell said the following on 6 Mar 2011: Really frustrating time trying to book through website. Simply could not get to stage 3 of booking system. Emailed my problem to Rebekkah and she gave me instructions but still no joy. Pfrefer to book online because it's usually later in the evening so on this occasion the business was lost. See that others have had problems in the past.
Reply from Classic Britain:- Hi Mr MacLeod, Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of the site. We are at a loss to discover what was happening when you were trying to get to stage 3. Stage 2 of the process is entering your name and then clicking 'continue with your booking'. We have attempted this a huge number of times and we cannot replicate any problem. Kind regards Raymond McMillan Hotel Product Manager |
Patricia Docherty from Glasgow said the following on 23 Feb 2011: I have used classic britain several times and will continue to for the future, it's a superb site and very good value for money.Just back from a stay at Castle Inn hotel for my husbands 50th birthday which we enjoyed and now i look forward to another break at New Lanark Mill Hotel in March with a friend so I think you can safely say I visit your site OFTEN!! Thankyou for the great deals and making it possible for people to afford. |
Kathleen Tierney from Glasgow said the following on 22 Feb 2011: I would like to add my own praise to the staff and the hotels affiliated to 'Classic Britain'. Last year my husband and I used 'CB' several times for various hotels in Scotland and for Chester at Easter. Each stay has been very enjoyable. In October we took a small niece to the Argyll Hotel in Dunoon for an overnight and she had a great time with excellent food for her and us. When talking about it later I said her stay had only cost us £10 to which she replied "I could pay for that myself" - hinting strongly that we should book again. I have been recommending 'CB' to everyone and wish you well with the new web pages. |
Fiona from Ayrshire said the following on 18 Feb 2011: I have relied on this website for many years - having cross-checked the deals with other websites, it just can't be beaten. Today, I had to cancel a booking for the first time and found this remarkably easy to do so online via the My Booking tab, confirmed quickly by an email from Classic Britain. I'm also impressed with how quick and easy it is to be specific about on the websitewhat we're looking for, as we have a dog and on some other websites it can be difficult to confirm whether she's allowed or not without spending ages in the small print. |
Thomson from Inverness said the following on 14 Feb 2011: Craigellachie Hotel, Craigellachie, Aberlour. Booked DBB at this hotel on Saturday for Sunday night stay. Cannot fault anything about this hotel. We were welcomed by the Receptionist, up-graded to a junior suite which had its own 4-poster bed and treated to a complimentary whisky or sherry in the Quaich Bar (which has hundreds of bottles of malt from £3.50 a nip to £317!) Our dinner was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. We had coffee in the library which had a very real gas coal fire. All the staff were both friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this hotel - we will be returning in the future. |

thomas Nicholson from Bridge of Earn Perth said the following on 2 Feb 2011: Took a booking at one nights notice to the Blue Bell Hotel Belford Northumberland on Jan 27th 2011 Excellent value at £80 for D, B'B for my wife and I Very good welcome by staff - lovely clean room overlooking the square. After some Real Ale the meal was a lot better than expected with large portions. Bacon and Black pudding salad for Doreen and a large Prawn cocktail for me were followed by Chicken Breast stuffed with stilton and two Large Sea Bass fillets ended off with Sticky Toffee pudding Breaksfast was the usual things and we then had a whole Craster Kipper each A walk along Holy Island was needed - a week here and my waistline would be expanded somewhat !! Will return definitly |

m.robertson from glasgow said the following on 2 Feb 2011: Stayed at the Queens Hotel Perth for 2 nights from 28 - 29 Jan '11.Found the staff all very pleasant.Only took breakfast & it was good standard fare. The actual hotel is clean, bathroom fine though we had such difficulty with the shower in our room(413)we gave up after one using. I think they should also look into retuning the tv (or better still, getting new ones!)as some stations were not available & some were so quiet you could hardly hear them! The hotel is fine,no frills, and I feel could do with a refurb.Maybe not going to happen in this economic climate though. Oh,and the rooms are not really soundproofed, the 3 lads in the room across from us had a very lively time & their choice of language was extremely AngloSaxon! Apart from that,we enjoyed our stay overall.Would we return? We'll see... |

Fleming from Glasgow said the following on 17 Nov 2010: Unfortunately, due to illness and a stay in hospital, we had to cancel a three night stay at the Kings Manor Hotel in Edinburgh. This was so easy to do - by clicking a few keys on the computer. And at no cost. When the reason for the cancellation is outwith your control, it is a bonus not to have to pay a cancellation fee. Once health is restored, we will book through classicbritain again. |

The booking was so quick and easy and i couldnt believe the savings were so good and even double checked the price was right to make sure. The food was amazing and the chef adapted the menu to accommodate my diet and it still tasted amazing. would recommend this hotel to anyone and will return in the new year.
